Spring Transition – Double Denim and Denim Jacket Staple

I do love a pretty silk blouse. This mustard floral with bits of pine green, burgundy, and white feels as light as a feather and a fabric every lady should enjoy in her wardrobe. You can’t beat it. Another staple you want for Spring is a denim jacket.

Double Denim Look

I’ve search high and low for a denim jacket that was fitted and had stretch, one that fit my style. I came across this Antrhopologie denim jacket on Poshmark for under $75 and was excited to wear it. One of those staples you can wear all Spring and Summer, the denim jacket can be worn with denim, skirts, dresses, you name it. It is that versatile!

I’ve paired it with a medium shade of denim skinnies from Old Navy and my cream white booties gifted from Vaneli. The pop of color – in pine green, is from my Rebecca Minkoff quilted bag.

Typically, one of the best ways to wear double denim is to mix the shades of denim. Here my jacket is a bit darker than my med wash jeans. You could also pair the jean jacket with white denim, black or colored denim for a more distinct contrast. The washes are different between the jacket and jeans.

The squared gold heel reiterates the golden hue of the silk blouse, and makes this a more unique cream-white bootie.

Photography – This hazy effect was created by what my hubby calls being “sunblind”. The sun is low and causing this effect to the photographs. The clear photos, with more defined sharpness, was taken a little later in the day.

Do you have a denim jacket in your wardrobe as a staple? Would you wear double denim?

Have a wonderful day!

Looking fabulous, Jess. That blouse is so pretty and feminine. I think the denim with denim works with the different washes, but you also show here how you could do similar denims together, just by having a shorter jacket so your top sticks out the bottom and separates the two washes. Love this look, girl! – Amy

Thank you Amy! You are so right! The fact tha tthe color and peplum style of the top shows between the denim does seperate the look. Glad you like it! Have a great week! xx

Thank you my friend! Most silk tops are $150+ but I scored this on Posh last year for a fraction. I was excited to style the white booties again. xx
