18 Mar Spring Transitioning with a Rust Satin Dress

Hello friends, I am sharing my styling of a rust satin dress as we transition outfits into Spring.

Styling the Satin Midi Dress from Winter to Spring

We had quite the weather over this past week, in the mid 70’s it felt very Spring like and it was nice to see the sun again, and hear the birds chirp.

So, I went to the closet, pulled out this satin rust Mango dress, which is about 6 years old, and knew I wanted to style it with a silk scarf from my collection. Here is an option if you love the color and length of the dress.  The mustard, rust, sky blue and brown tones in the scarf really lend itself nicely and richly to the simplicity and colors of the dress. I couldn’t find the exact one, but linked a similar one, and there are lots of options.

I chose to wear the dress with my tan brown strappy sandals, as the weather certainly permitted. It’s so funny, when you aren’t dressed in sweatpants or gym leggings, you seem to get better treatment. I had many people hold the door open for me, just going to the doctor, and more pleasant personalities when I dress up. We were going to the Cottage Wine bar, but I dress how I want no matter if it’s the grocery store or anywhere else.

The Eric Javits bag gives it a more light, spring feel as well. I love the woven structure mixed with the leather. Looking for a more budget friendly version- option 1, option 2.

How to Style this dress

This dress is one that can be worn many seasons with some small changes in accessories as well.

Add a long tee underneath, and some cute trendy ballet slippers.

Tie a button down at the bottom of the waist and wear it over the dress.

Still want to wear boots? A few more months of boot and booties, take out those favorites now. A leopard boot or cognac bootie would look great here as well.
