St Patrick’s Day Outfit Inspiration- Missin’ Dad

If you have been a longer reader of my blog, you will know I lost my dad in 2016,  and he loved the Irish culture.

I decided to put together an outfit today in honor of my Dad for St Patrick’s day,

St Patrick’s Day

My Dad was the quintessential “faux” Irishman! When he would drink a beer, a Coors light mind you, his face would get red! We used to laugh and say, “What kind of an Irishman are you!” Lately though, my mom has given me all of his Ancestry.com research, it turns out that we aren’t totally sure if we are Irish or Scottish!

Nevertheless, my Dad loved his Irish music, the Clancy Brothers. I can honestly say, as a kid, I was ready to bang my forehead against the wall, if he played the album one more time. Now, as an adult, it is me who plays the Clancy Brothers in honor of my dad.  I actually remember a lot of the lyrics too. ” There was…. Johnny Maculdoo and Magee and Me, and a couple or two or three were on a spree on day”..

Miss you Dad!!

We had talked about the importance of green on this day, so I styled this Outfit with tulip green pants and a small kitten heel. The blouse a is green and cream floral. I wanted to add more color, so one of the best ways to do that is with accessories. I chose this silk scarf in greens and purples. My flower earrings summon spring, and the jean jacket is a staple that I take out each spring. My bag is a quilted bag similar to the Bottega Vonnetta, without the $$$$ price tag.

We celebrated over the weekend at a brewery, with my hubby and mom, and brought Gibson along too. I think he found himself a girlfriend! I notice how he perks up when another dog (small dog) is around. She was 4, so still young. We will get another pup after we return from our Europe trip. I think a buddy is important. Couldn’t find his 4-leaf clover scarf though. I got my kicks yesterday, as I bring treats and make my rounds with all the dogs. Overall, it was a nice day- we enjoyed mom’s company and got to hear music as well. I am not a beer drinker, so a few glasses of Chardonnay did the trick for celebration.

However much we love our parents when they’re with us, there are always things we wish we had said before we lost them! But they remain part of us and memories keep that love and bond alive ready to pass onto the next generation!

I am glad you have these fun memories of your dad. I could just see him at an Irish pub, singing along and having a pint or two. Like Nancy, I couldn’t see any of your photos, but I’m sure you’re gorgeous in them as green is so good on you.

That sounds like a great day and beautiful memories. I couldn’t see your photos though, perhaps it’s me.
