Turning Heads Linkup -St Patty’s Day Green Outfit with Neck Scarf

St Patty's Day outfit

Hello friends!

It’s all about wearing green this week as St Patty’s day is tomorrow!

My Outfit and Irish Tradition

“Johnny Mackeldoo and Magee and Magoo, and a couple or two or three, were on a spree one day.” The song is called, Johnny Mackeldoo, by the Clancy Brothers and boy did we hear it on family car rides! Another of his favorite Irish Tunes was “The Irish Rover” and the classic, “Danny Boy”.

Have a listen to one of my Dad’s favorite songs.

We used to laugh, as my dad, as an Irishman, couldn’t drink beer without turning red. And it was Coors Light, not Guiness!

Corned beef and cabbage. Soda bread. My mom and I are planning to make Soda Bread on St Patrick’s Day, No yeast and 4 ingredients!

Yes, these are just some of the Irish traditions. My aunt would play often on record, by the Clancy Brothers when we visited as kids.

“On Saint Patrick’s Day, it is customary to wear shamrocks, green clothing or green accessories. Saint Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish.” wiki credit. and photo.

Wearing green for St Patty's Day

I’ve avoided getting pinched this week as I am wearing green! I mentioned yesterday that these gold threaded Marc Fisher espadrilles represent the Pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow. 🙂

My Outfit

I shopped my closet and have been buying more from Poshmark lately. Just some Spring pick me ups!

This neck scarf and others you will see) was gifted from a woman run business, Gibby’s Frillery. I have shared another of her scarves on Instagram, and they are just perfect for the extra touch of color and if you don’t want to wear a necklace in the Spring or Summer.

You can check out the business here-

GET 25 % off the neck scarves using my CODE elegantly25

I was quite amused too as my boy, my pup, is named Gibby, So, I needed to put  a “gibby” on “Gibby” 🙂

My teal moto jacket is from Anthropologie ( Poshmark) years ago,  and you have seen these wide leg crops from Wit and Wisdom many times. I do love them with a heel, like these Franco Sarto espadrilles.

I could put something together like this with my green leather jacket. Love the neck scarf: adds a little extra color and fun. I used to make irish soda bread but it has been a while.

You look great in this jacket and I love the style of your jeans. I’m dying to get my sandals out, it’s too cold in the UK
at the moment though. Hope you’re having a wonderful St Patricks day – my hubby’s namesake. xxx

Lovely to see you and Gibby in complementary gibby scarves! And to read about some of the St Patrick’s Day traditions. My husband’s mother was Irish and always used to bring some shamrock around. Goodness knows where she found it in London!

Perfect St. Paddy’s Day outfit! Love the green nails! And GIbby’s namesake. We always had Irish Soda Bread and Corned Beef on St. Patrick’s Day. I have a small bit of Irish in me, but that’s just what you did to celebrate! And wear green, so you don’t get pinched! Lol! My greens are scheduled for tomorrow’s post. Lots of fun, isn’t it?

I just recently bought a hunter green from Plato’s closet last month and it is my FAAAAAAAAAVE! I have never owned a green shirt because I always thought green was ugly on me. Well, pair it with some white skinny jeans and some wedges and the outfit is the BOMBdotcom!! Green looks amazing on you 🙂

You are so cute in this outfit, all ready for St. Patrick’s Day! I love that neck tie, it is so simple and much easier to wear than a full on scarf (esp when it is warmer). That green moto jacket is such a unique color, too and so fun!

If I’d have thought about it properly, I should’ve worn green this week too – not because I have any Irish family but because it’s my favourite colour, and I do love Ireland! In fact, it’s one of my all time favourite holidays!
You look great Jess. I loved learning that your dad is Irish!

What a beautiful coloured Jacket. Love how you styled it too, Jess. I have some jeans just like yours, but when I got them they were too tight. Still too tight but have a spinning bike coming today so hopefully very soon I can wear them and link up :).. (Just got to work hard first) Love the style of these jeans. Thanks for hosting.
