Styling a Leopard Cardigan Over a Dress

Hello friends!

I hope you had a great weekend!

I recently bought this caramel dress with a pleated skirt from Mango, as I thought it would go with many things in my closet, and I could wear it for multiple seasons. I love the color!

I had in mind that I could wear this with a jacket or cardigan ( short or duster) in the Fall and Winter, and in the Spring and Summer, change out the accessories and shoes.

If been holding back on shopping in February and will for some of March, as I want to shop my closet more. I did buy this dress ( $50) from Mango, as I thought it would be great for many seasons and just adore the color. I’ve cut back on buying clothes this winter with this my one purchase. I am looking for a second pair of glasses, and it is tough! I have a smaller, petite face and have to look for small frames. I bought a pair of Ray Ban glasses and shared them on Instagram. I’ll be talking about glasses and eye health on the blog soon. Maybe you read my post last year- Choosing Glasses for your Face Shape.

I’ve had these subtle cat-eye glasses by Warby Parker for a few years and they are my favorite , style and fit wise. I

It has been like a Rainforest here in the Lake Norman area. With the number of torrential downpours we’ve had, a lake had formed as the nature trail. Non-stop. I felt like I was back in the ‘Burg! Today, this weekend, I spotted something when I opened the front door. It was light, bright, coming from the sky.. but I just couldn’t pinpoint it. Hmmmm. 🙂

We had a fabulous weekend and actually went out on VDay. Our local hang out, The Cottage, had a Vday dinner with a roasted beet salad ( visions of Borscht danced in my head!) but I really liked it! Baked brie with fig. Dinner was salmon and herbed mashed potatoes and I took home the cheesecake! They accompanied it with 5 wines from France and Spain, and I had to turn a few down! That’s a lot of wine! I had a white Granche from Spain that was so refreshing we took home a bottle!.

My Outfit

I know it looks like I am wearing a pleated skirt, but it is actually a dress! A sleeveless dress, I thought to bring out my Banana Republic thrifted cardigan, a little leopard hits the spot! Mixing patterns, I love to mix animal prints and took out my favorite neck scarf, which I often fancy instead of a necklace at times. Another mix of pattern with my Franco Sarto Booties in a jacquard pattern made up of caramel, navy, gold and burgundy. Try mixing patterns with accessories or shoes- it adds visual appeal!

Dress- Mango  It also comes in black

leopard cardigan – thrifted. (similar on SALE)

booties- Franco Sarto

handbag- Rebecca Minkoff ( older, look on Tradsey)

scarf- Mango ( no longer in stock, this scarf is pretty!)

vintage earrings

Mustard is a great color on you. You seem to get a lot of wear out of your brocade booties. They are so romantic and so you. You look stunning in this outfit.

Hi Jess, That color looks magnificent on you! The cardigan adds just the right touch. My son is addicted to baked Brie so we make it often. Yum!

This is such a beautiful combination Jess. I have so many sleeveless dresses that I HAVE to layer over (or under) them. It changes the look completely.
    XOXO

Your Valentine’s dinner sounds so lovely! And delicious! Great new dress, Mango strikes again. Great idea to add your leopard cardi and the fun print on your boots adds even more visual appeal. I think you are right, you’ll wear that dress each season and the color is great on you!

Morning! Thank you! Yes, it is an easy sleeveless dress and I thought it would be great to layer as well as wear with sandals when it gets warm. The dinner was so good! 🙂
