20 Sep Styling Jewel Tones with Brown Tones and New Jeans
Wearing Jewel tones with browns is not a new invention. The thought was inspired by my friend, Jodie, at Jodie’s Touch of Style and the Ageless Style gang!
My Outfit-
I often get inspiration from other bloggers or just reading fashion magazines. The gang mentioned above, styled various looks with “gem tones/brown.”
I have been wanting to mix up my color palette for Fall and try different Fall combinations of color.
Do you find you often mix the same color palette for Fall? Are you comfortable with one thing and stick with it?
Well, since there is a big, wide world of color out there, I thought I would give it a go, and work with colors from the brown family combining with jewel tones. ‘
There are many shades of brown, and shades within the brown family. I am wearing one of my favorites, “a pumpkin tone” ( not rust, rust is darker with more brown) and decided to pair it with teal for today’s look. I could easily pair this “brown family tone” with red, emerald green etc. So, try a combination of this for Fall. Choose one color from the brown family, and pair it with a jewel tone. You might be excited at the outcome!
Since leopard is a neutral, I love adding some pattern to the look, and chose my LV Speedy and leopard kitten heels.
Most of these pieces are from me shopping my closet, but I did buy a few new pairs of denim this season.
This pair is called the High Rise Slim Boyjean from Madewell.
Madewell- a New Brand to me
The high waisted slim boy jean was one I tried on and really loved the style.
I am totally loving high rise this year, and will continue buying high rise jeans. They aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I am long waisted, have a small waist and they work well.
This style is supposed to be a little looser, with a slim, straight leg. I added the cuff as it gives it kind of a boyfriend vibe.
I am wearing a size 26 here, as it seems to be my size at Madewell. My typical jean size in other denim is 27.
The other thing I like about them is these jeans are made with cotton and Tencel, so they are nice and soft!
I’ll talk more about Madewell another time, when I share my second pair I bought. I am enjoying a change from skinnies ( but Im still wearing them!)
Not the same exact wash, but you get the idea of fit.

Have you tried combining these colors? Tell me how in the comments.
Have a great day!

Posted at 13:07h, 23 SeptemberGorgeous. Do I always start my comments to your posts with that word or a synonym?? Probably!!
Another blogger I follow recently paired pumpkin or rust with pink and lilac. Also very pretty pairings. You guys inspire me.
And those jeans are such a flattering fit. I don’t think I have ever tried Madewell but I know they are extremely
popular. Followed your link for those cute lower heel leopard shoes but they are out of my size. Pinned them and will
keep checking back. I love my BCBG shoes but I think 3″ heels are no longer something I can wear comfortably. Waaaa!!
