Styling Something Different- A Colorblock Dress

Wearing something a bit different for me today, but I am loving it. This color block dress is modern and the design appealing.

Styling Something Different

I have mostly been buying on Poshmark, and doing secondhand shopping. I have, however, bought a few pieces that have caught my eye this season on-line. I knew a little about the shop, & Other Stories, just seeing pieces on other bloggers. I had spied two dresses that were different for me, this gorgeous assymetrical hemmed striped dress, and this black and tan colorblock dress

I am wearing the dress in a small, and it has room and is very comfortable.

As much as I would have loved to have kept both, I saw the one I chose today, as a bit more casual and one I could wear more often, with my lifestyle. The other, a bodycon, was different, I loved the multidirectional stripes and hem, but wasn’t sure I would wear it out as much.

If you haven’t tried color block dressing, a dress is a great way to get started. I am hoping you may find one of these appealing for yourself, as it is always good to stretch our wardrobe mentality and try something different!

With sandals for Spring.

Had to return due to it being a bit more I wanted to spend.

Styling the Color Block Dress

I could see this dress styled with a fun pair of sneakers and a baseball hat ( I don’t wear them, but maybe you do). A fun sporty look. I also loved that the design continued on the back of the dress and that it was not solid.

I also can see this with a trench coat ( am waiting on a long one), and some slides for Spring, the shoes changing the look.

Because the dress is neutral, if you wanted color, you could certainly add pieces with my accessories. Some red shoes, a bag with bright pink, whatever you choose to go with this neutral palette.

I kept it simple with my Bruno Magli bag ( that gets a ton of wear!) and gold jewelry. I am wearing Kendra Scott hoop earrings and my Monica Vinader rings.

Some Other Color Block Dresses You Might Like

This combination of black and tan seems quite chic to me, but there are other color pairings I love looking at as well.

The artistic bodice design of this Vince Camuto pink and orange dress is so cool!

Karen Kane, keeps it classic with a black and white color scheme, but modern design.

A two-toned ribbed sweater dress would look lovely on. ( Not for me, as it would wash me out with the fair skin)

Out of my budget, but a beautiful camel and black knit wrap dress.

Now, one can dream. Love this one.

Ah, The Luck of the Irish!

Well, I am part Irish, my Dad’s side, and will be celebrating at Daveste Winery on the weekend with an excellent band, Irish food, drinking, and me just looking forward to a glass of wine and some music! I’m not into sauerkraut, but do like potatoes. Nonetheless, it will be a fun outing! I will try and share some St Patty’s Day looks on Instagram Reels /Stories!

Do you love wearing color blocking? Do you have a dress with color blocking, and if so, how do you style it?

Elegantly dressed and stylish, indeed!! Wow. This dress was MADE for you. The colors, the cut, the design of the dress all flatter your beautiful figure so well. Love the bag you selected to use with it and especially love the dress with those strappy sandals.
Hope your outing on St. Patrick’s day was delicious. I am not keen on sauerkraut either but can eat anything once a year. We wound up staying at home on St. Patrick’s day. Was hoping we might at least have a mug of green ale!!

      Hi Leslie!
Thank you so much. The design caught my eye and it was on sale 🙂 Yes, I prefer it with the strappy sandals or in the Fall wear it with tall boots to continue the leg line.It was so fun and yes, delish! Hubby loved the Shepards Pie!

It’s great to step out of our comfort zone occasionally and see how it feels, isn’t it? Sounds like you have a really fun St. Paddy’s Day planned, hope you enjoy it! Thanks for sharing and the link up.
