10 Jun Summer – Accessories Can Make the Look
Wouldn’t it be strange to see outfits without the accessories? Kind of bland huh? When the heat is on, you don’t have to wear alot of jewelry, but keep in mind the accessories that can make a look. In this outfit, it is my new brown belt. Where did I buy it, you say? Mango, of course!
Mom is here in Charlottte unti the 20th. We are enjoying showing her around the city and places we love to go. Had a great time at Rocketman, the Elton John movie, and we all kicked up our feet at the theatre, which brings food and drinks while you watch the show. I loved learning more about one of my favorite singers and hearing those tunes. Its always fascinating to me how a musician gets started.
I’ve started to play my guitar more, as these things motivate me, but boy, I need my calluses back!
My Outfit
I’ve had this rust maxi dress in my closet for a number of years, and I like the bit of air conditioning, ahem, slits in the front. The style cn be worn on or off the shoulder, and I tend to prefer when I have that option.
I accessorized with this thick brown leather belt that caught my eye and I knew it would accompany many of my neutral dresses for summer. I will also pair it with a white linen blouse and tan linen pants adding a bit more rich color.
This woven straw bag I picked up on Poshmark, ( thrifted) for about $15! I love it styled with the belt like they were meant to be together.
I seem to prefer lately earrings with a cuff or bracelet, as sometimes it feels too hot for necklaces. I am wearing tortoise and gold earrings gifted by Soft Surroundings.
My Andre Assous espadrilles were gifted last year, and I loved the shiny gold band on the shoes.
There are plenty of dresses that have the cloth belt but adding a more textured belt elevates the look.
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Posted at 15:22h, 10 JuneJess, first of all, you look fabulous! Your hair, the color of the outfit, the accessories, all look amazing! And, second, my friend was recently diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos after so many missed diagnosis, and I know it’s a difficult illness and I admire your tenacity! Hope you enjoy your time with your mom!

Posted at 13:33h, 11 JuneThanks so much Susan. It can be tricky in the summer, as it gets mightly hot here and I just want to through my hair up in a ponytail! Oh, I have found some ladies too, that know someone with EDS, I don’t think it is diagnosed often. Best wishes to your friend. Thank you! xx

Posted at 04:42h, 10 JuneGreat outfit and yes the accessories make it! That brown belt is so pretty and totally looks like it was meant for that straw bag (good find!). The slits in the dress are so terrific for the hot summer weather.
Glad you enjoyed Rocketman – such a sad life, huh? Our son is teaching himself the guitar and we’re enjoying listening to him pluck around on it – he’s learning Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here, it’s fun!
Enjoy your time with your mom!
