21 Nov Thanksgiving Outfit Inspiration- Brown Tones
I’m giving you more Thanksgiving Outfit Inspiration with the brown tones I am wearing today on the blog.
Styling a Sweater over a Dress
Chocolate brown and other brown tones are big this Season. I will be writing a post on just the subject soon on the blog.
Today, I am taking an outfit from my closet, and sharing the pieces that I styled together for this Thanksgiving look.
Thanksgiving is a fun and wonderful time to celebrate, often with family, and certainly a time of gratitude. I often think, “I am grateful I wore this outfit for the Thanksgiving dinner, after I stuffed myself! ” LOL.
In all seriousness, it is a time of contemplation, for what we are most thankful, and a time of social gathering and family togetherness.
I wouldn’t be able to make it to my mom’s house this year, as she is 8 + hours away in Pittsburgh, and I can’t handle sitting that long for a car ride.
Nonetheless, we are having a small gathering at home, and will enjoy the peacefulness, and just having a lovely Holiday. Pudendal Neuralgia or not, I would often choose a dress to wear on Thanksgiving, as I do not ever like anything pressing on my gut, and for this occasion, with all of the delicious concoctions, the sweet and creamy sweet potato dish, the corn pudding, etc, I like to have some room and not feel like the season’s Turkey- Stuffed!
So, a dress it is.
How, do I make my dresses go further than wearing them the same each time? I will wear a blazer or sweater over top of them. This soft and comfy knit I bought a few years ago from H&M, in taupe, layered nicely over my Fall leaves, Karina Dress. The Jambu Chair boots in taupe would pair nicely as well.
Adding different prints to the mix, I choose my LV Speedy.
All of the browns work nicely, and warmly together, and is a very popular shade right now in stores
So, certainly if you have a favorite dress, that you don’t get enough wear out of, try pairing it with a sweater over top, and make the outfit go even further.
I’ll certainly miss the family this Thanksgiving, but know that we will be spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with everyone here in NC.
Are you wearing a dress for Thanksgiving? I’d love to hear from you in the comments.

Posted at 11:58h, 22 NovemberThe taupe sweater layers so beautifully over the dress, I thought it was a skirt! I love this layering method for extending the use of dresses into colder weather, and this is a top-notch example.
