11 Nov The IT Color This Season- Burgundy and Clara Sunwoo

Today I have styled the beautiful “Merlot” /Burgundy jacket from Clara Sunwoo. This warm dark red tone is showing everywhere!

A Column Look with Brown

Merlot ( burgundy) Liquid leather jacket

I knew from the get-go how I was styling this jacket. I have a bit of an obsession now with burgundy, ( I like the wine too!) and so I knew I wanted to pair it with chocolate brown, which was a bit more unexpected. Often times, I see the combination of burgundy and black, but it is fun to pair this color with many other shades. Just think of the gorgeous leaves on the trees at this time.

All of the Clara Sunwoo liquid leather jackets are a knit, and I wore mine practically daily when we were in Spain and Portugal They are a lovely extra layer, and a great shape as well. I wore a hunter green monochromatic look for traveling, and the hunter green liquid leather jacket, and received many compliments at the airport

Here I styled the “Merlot” jacket with a column of chocolate brown. I am wearing the Clara Sunwoo brown palazzo pants, and just see how they “woosh” when walking. They are sooooo comfortable, and I love the 3 inch waist band that is not constricting but soft.  Out from the wide leg of the palazzo pant are my Zara leopard booties. These Steve Madden ones are similar and have the block heel. To make this column dressing, I am wearing a fine knit brown turtleneck with the pants. For more texture, to keep the look interesting, I added my favorite Brahmin bag with warm brown tones. The style “Melbourne” is not available but this color and shape is. 

Many fashion houses and retailers are showing burgundy, you can find whole lines of it here at H&M, Zara, and Mango.

This jacket would be wonderful with a dress or if you wear denim for the Thanksgiving holiday, to dress casually, but smart. Everything is soft and has give, so what more could you ask for when eating a holiday meal ? 🙂

What’s Happening?

Well, I have been busy at the shelter, walking Puppy Up for Canine Cancer, obtaining new guitar students, and will be helping my mom move down here this week.  She was nervous about leaving the home she has been in for 50 years. However, three out of four siblings will be here near Charlotte, so I think she thinks this is the best too.

I’ve been doing a bit of Holiday shopping and that is late for me, but plans aren’t totally set yet. We are going to my sister’s house in South Charlotte for Thanksgiving, so that should be lovely. My one requirement- Pumpkin pie!
