03 May THT-A Tailored Look with Cream Trousers for Spring
Tailored Look
By now if you have been following me, you know that I enjoy wearing elevated looks and this season is not only about color, be it bold shades, or pastels ( light and creamy yellows and pinks), but includes tailored looks with trousers and blazers.
I rarely shop “off season” but this year I was tempted by our European trip this Fall. I found some wonderful trousers at Mango , Mango Outlet, and Poshmark, that I wanted to add to the closet and could see myself wearing now as well.
I bought about 4 pairs of trousers- one black, one cream, a brown plaid ( for Fall) and a grey plaid. Closer to the trip I will plan on writing about a capsule travel wardrobe.
I had this blazer, from Nordstrom, and you have seen it here on the blog, but I love the look of cream or winter white and found these beautiful trousers on Mango. I just love a flat front trouser with some elastane ( a small percentage) as it gives you some stretch and movement. Not to mention other materials that offer breathability. I didn’t want all polyester.
I have always loved a tailored look and feel that it is such a chic and sharp style. Since these are separates, they are all pieces meant to be worn that way too. Charlotte is a mild climate, so these pants would actually carry me through the Summer and Fall as well. I am wearing my usual size 4 in all of the Mango trousers I bought, so I would say this style is true to size. I love the style of these cream pants as well.
The contrast of this deep olive really went well with the soft cream shade and added simple gold jewelry.
You can find brightly colored suits are trending right now, and perhaps you are thinking of adding them to your closet. Not only could you wear them going in to the office ( some companies are now having workers come in more) or, wear them separately in a more casual way.
When I style these trousers next, I hope to style them casually with sneakers.
Life Lately
Besides the day to day of gardening and enjoying dining al fresco on our deck, we had a wonderful evening out on the weekend. I had wanted to see the musical, “The Waitress” years ago when it came to Charlotte but was unable to. So, Saturday we went to an amazing new wine bar, called , Chicceti, which by name, means small plates in Italian. It was deliciouso! We shared chicken and rosemary meatballs with pomodoro and ricotta, smoked salmon bruschetta, a bottle of Italian wine and hubby singlely ate the fried oysters. The musical was so good, and it was nice to be able to enjoy it, after 2.5 years of not seeing anything.
I did my first reel, and it was fun, I admit. Check it out here if you didn’t see it.
Do you wear tailored looks or do you save them for the office? let me know in the comments.

The creme blazer and trousers look prefect together with the olive pops of darker color. These pieces will be very versatile worn separately, too.
