20 Sep THT- How To Style A Maxi Dress from Summer to Fall
The Dress- Styling it for Summer/Transitional Weather
Ah, yes. The color of Bordeaux, what do you think when you think of the word?
wine…Bordeaux wine comes from the eastern part of Bordeaux, France. And there is often a bit of competition between Bordeaux and Burgundy wines.
Well, that is perfectly acceptable, but today, I am talking about my new Teddy Blake bag in the color, Bordeaux. It is a very rich warm tone, where burgundy is a bit cooler.
Well, I could talk about different wines for a long time But let’s face it, you are here today for Fashion.
Caite and Kyla dress
I am going to share with you an example of how I styled this outfit from Transitional weather to Fall.
I styled one of my favorite Poshmark finds, a leather clutch from JJ Winters, with this richly colored new dress, The Lucia from Caite and Kyla. The gold, the tan, purple, and the burgundy color make an eye-catching statement. I styled it for Summer and Fall making some small adjustments. The dress is beautiful as I love the flowy style, the rich pattern, and the subtle tiered portion of the dress. You could certainly add another accessory by belting it, but I left the flowy style on its own.
I wore this stunning maxi dress with my Vince Camuto quilted leather slip ons, I duplicated the brown in the dress with my croc textured JJ Winters bag. I love wearing slides in the Spring and Summer, gives that easy vibe along with the boho style dress from Caite and Kyla. This print also comes in a blouse from Caite and Kyla as well. Take a look HERE.
Styling the Maxi with the Bordeaux It Bag from Teddy Blake
Teddy Blake gifted me this gorgeous bag for Fall. The warmth of the Bordeaux color and the lizard texture of the bag certainly appealed to me. I have croc textured bag and thought this was the perfect change. I really love the size of it, the 11″, just perfect for my frame, and enough space for everything! I will carry my wallet, hairbrush, lipsticks, and cell phone. The Kim is easy to carry, but also comes with a strap if you prefer to carry it that way. This deep color with the gold hardware just looks so luxe! I really could just stare at it for a portion of the day!
You have seen me style the Kim before in another color.
If there is one of the more popular and timeless items to add to your Fall wardrobe, it is the moto jacket. I have a little collection and I always get out this chestnut suede one as well as my burgundy one. So, if there were two things for Fall that can elevate an outfit, I would say a fabulous bag and moto jacket.
I’ve also changed out my leather slides for my Sesto Meucci suede booties in burgundy.
From the Teddy Blake website:
“WE KNEW THATItalians do it better
When Teddy Blake was transforming from idea to reality we knew where to go – Italy! Why? Because in Italy leather crafting is a storied, generations-old tradition.”
So, I am thinking, hmmm, bag. Italian Made. Boots. Italian Made. This is a sign. We will go when I am better! Capisce?
How would you style this dress transitionally or for Fall. I’d love to hear from you.
