THT- Light Denim Styled for Spring

Time to style your light denim for Spring!

Take Out Your Light Denim

Happy Spring friends! or should I say “Felice Primavera”!

I am beyond ready for Spring and being outside on a more regular basis!

In terms of fashion, it is time to take out the lighter denim in your Spring wardrobe.

These jeans are an “oldie but goodie” pair from Loft and are 99% cotton and 1% elastane. I do love the feel of real denim over some of the stretchier type jeggings. I have this pair from Madewell, that I recently bought and will wear on the blog as well.

What type are trending for Spring? Well, 90’s styles have made their appearance. 90’s baggier styles are welcome to some, like a denim clad teenager rebelling against skinny jeans.

Wide leg jeans are popular and often paired with a more form fitting top- now in bright colors for Spring.

I was in the mood for neutrals and decided to pair my cream blazer and cami with a nude Valentino-esque sandal, leopard scarf and cognac bag. Spring often lends itself to more of a feature of one’s accessories. As it gets warmer, these are the pieces that are going to stand out as well. Scarves are a nice “extra” instead of necklaces, and add another facet to the outfit.

Light wash jeans are the perfect base to start your Spring look. I do think of light wash jeans as being more casual, but looks great for Spring days. You can certainly wear them this Spring with-

  • bright colored tops in pink, lime, bright yellow, bright blue
  • pastel colors- blue and lilac are a soft, lovely choice
  • white blouses or shirts with detail. I love a beautiful white eyelet blouse with light jeans- so Springy and  classic.
  • neutrals are beautiful as well, try cognac, olives, really any neutral.
  • a fun graphic tee and fashionable sneakers- this is more casual.

Life Lately

We have been quite busy with house projects. It is that time of year! We worked on staining our deck yesterday, and I will have to share some of the items I bought recently for a new deck look. It took my hubby and I the day to stain the deck a Honey Teak.

Today we are headed to the local nursery, so Southern gals, let me know what flowers you like for your pots , as Annuals. I just bought this self-watering planter we re hanging on the deck, so I need flowers for them.

Outfit

Loft light wash jeans ( sim)// blazer- Nordstrom // cami-Target( sim) // sandals- Vanelli// bag- Rebecca Minkoff( bought on Ebay)// scarf

    Hello Jess,

Light denim is certainly on trend right now and it’s very spring and summer like. I’m loving its fresh look as opposed to the darker denim we wore in winter.

Jess, I’ve been on the hunt for denim in lighter shades as well. And I’m glad that there are more options these days besides skinny jeans.

It’s spring perfection! Love the blazer and your scarf. They compliment each other for a beautiful look. I don’t have a garden so not sure what type of flowers to recommend but I do have two cacti and one aloe. They’ve been loving the warmer weather!

So pretty Jess! I love the blazer and denim. Your deck sounds like it will come together beautifully. I cannot keep flowers alive – even for a season. Hope you share pictures of how it all looks, a self watering planter sounds like a God send!
