03 Jan Turning Heads Linkup- New Year – Older Clothes
Happy New Year! It’s the New Year, but today, I am styling some older clothes.
New Year Older Clothes
Long, long ago, there was a LOFT burgundy floral cardigan. This cardigan was loved by its owner, so loved, that it began to pill. The lonely little cardigan remained in the sweater pile, until one day, it was no longer of use.
A few years later, the owner decided it missed the pretty floral cardigan and found an exact sweater secondhand on Poshmark. Perfect condition!
So, if you had to get rid of a garment you didn’t want to part with, look to see if it is in better shape on Ebay or Poshmark. I do have good luck!
I have been buying a few new things in the sales here and there, but mostly have been shopping second hand.
Santa brought me a few rings for Christmas, and my Mother in Law bought this Dean Davidson ring in a striking textured pattern. The criss cross ring is Monica Vinader, and I had been eyeing that for awhile.

Anyhow, I hope you all enjoyed your holiday with family, and I was so thrilled not to have to travel this year! We alternated between a bit at our house for Christmas Eve- Eve, and then over to my brothers for the rest of the Holiday. There was no shortage of excellent food, and hubby and I made Christmas Day brunch. Mmm. Lox is something I could eat every day, and the quiches were delish as well. My mom bought us a bar cart and some wonderful liquors, so I’ll be whipping up some fun mixed drinks in the New Year.
My Outfit
Now… back to my outfit.
I styled pieces from my closet for this look, and I was in the mood for some berry tones. Maybe it was the berries hanging from our Christmas wreath, or the garland around the door that became my inspiration.
I am wearing a newly found Loft cardigan ( Poshmark) and styled it with my Ann Taylor lace skirt. As in yesterday’s example, I have a more fitted top with a more voluminous bottom. It creates a beautiful balance. The gold brocade booties are a favorite of mine, and I wanted to mix some patterns. Both prints are of similar size with similar colors in them. The bag is a stunning deep Bordeaux.
The New Year
I’ll be posting some new year goals in a post on the blog in the near future and see how I did with ones I set last year. I always like the “clean slate feeling” of a New Year. Wishing all of you, my readers, a Blessed and Healthy New Year.
I haven’t decided yet about the linkup, so for today, it is here. Just trying to decide as it is IG is taking up more of my time with reels and such.
Have you been shopping the sales, or doing more “shopping your closet” recently?

Posted at 14:35h, 04 JanuaryFirst I love your outfit. The colors are so beautiful and perfect for January. Second, OMG I have done the Poshmark thing several times. That is all I use if for. When I got rid of something I loved and regretted it or when I saw someone that had something that was not available new anymore. It is a great resource!
Happy new year Jess!
Peace!

I really like all the berry tones in this outfit, and how well your manicure coordinates. It’s great you were able to track down a favourite cardigan too 🙂
Hope you have a great start to the new year!

Posted at 19:08h, 03 JanuaryBeautiful berry tones! I love your Monica Vinader ring. I hope you keep the link up – yours was the first one I ever joined in with. It is time-consuming trying to keep on top of social media channels and a blog, but I do worry that Instagram and TikTok can just randomly ban an account, or it can be hacked and they don’t do anything about it. My blog will always come first as I have control over it. Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2023!

Posted at 19:01h, 03 JanuaryHappy 2023 Jess! I love your berry outfit! It is berry beautiful. 🙂 Our holidays sounded similar to yours. It was just an all around fun time with family! I also bought a few items during the sales but mainly stuck with old items in my closet. I haven’t shopped on Poshmark but have on eBay and Tradesy. I don’t think Tradesy is around anymore though. Anyway, I hope you have a great week and I hope you keep the link up!

Posted at 18:21h, 03 JanuaryI found the exact cardigan my hubby shrunk in the wash on poshmark. It’s a great place! The wording can be a little tricky to know what to search for since people sometimes list it differently though. Love you were able to find this gorgeous cardigan again!
