23 Apr THT-Spring Styling- Shopping My Closet-Poppy Dress
I’ve styled this dress when I first received it last year, and now I am reaching into my closet, and styling it a new way.

Poppy Dress
It’s dress season friends and I am reaching for clothes from my closet to style in a new way. I wore this dress without a belt and with quilted slides on a visit to a winery last summer. Today I am styling it a bit dressier as one way I would wear it out to dinner. I would add a light jacket however, as restaurants seem to turn up the air the moment the sun starts shining.
We went to a wonderful Italian restaurant, Angelines, in Uptown Charlotte a week ago, right before we listened to a talk at the Knights Theatre. It was on The Psychology of Serial Killers. Yeah, light stuff. I am a Discovery ID addict, and hubby likes to laugh at the fact that I watch it in the morning with my breakfast. I like True Crime, what can I say!
The talk was given by a reknowned psychologist who had studied familiar serial killers and their behavior. I won’t go into it here, but it was fascinating.
Back to the dress.
Sleeveless and with a hankerchief hem, it flows nicely and I couldn’t resist the print. I love poppies or bold florals. You certainly don’t have to go all “Matchy-matchy”with the black sandals and bag, but I liked the confluence of it all.
Are you a floral dress person? Tis the season!
You could certainly make this dress a bit more casual styled with some converse or cute fashion sneakers, a denim jacket and red bag. That would be a fun option if you are looking for a casual look.
The belt is accenting the waistline, so without it, it is more of a trapeze shaped dress. Where the jean jacket would hit, would also be more accenting of the waist as well.

Tell me, are you a floral gal? How might you style this dress if you were to wear it?

Posted at 14:06h, 24 AprilPsychology is certainly a fascinating concept! I do like learning about motivations people have for committing crimes. I don’t know if I could watch that type of show over breakfast though. Haha! Love that stunning dress on you! It’s such a pretty print!
