THT-Styling Linen Pants for Spring and Summer

It’s time to get out those linen pieces. I am styling a pair of linen pants on the blog today.

It’s that time of year that the linen pieces are showing in retailers and if we don’t have a pair of linen pants, we want to get one to wear when that weather starts to get humid.

Styling Linen Pants

Today I went with a monochromatic look styling my olive linen trousers and tank. I bought this tank in 4 colors for the summer as it will be great to wear on its own or under a blazer ( linen blazer 🙂 )

I kept it simple with a gold link chain necklace, straw circle bag, and my favorite pair of Mango cognac sandals. When you wear a monochromatic look, be aware of adding texture with accessories to add visual interest to the outfit.

Here the rattan bag, with its patterned design, and my croc textured strappy sandals, adds a richer look with these accessories.

Linen is pretty much a “Rite of Passage” here in the South. I used to wonder about the appeal, not being fond of wrinkles. However, once you accept that as the “character” of the fabric, you will feel much freer! No one wants to have sweat stains or clothes sticking to them, so it important to wear those cooler fabrics in the warmer months.

Linen is naturally breathable. This fabric helps to wick away moisture and leave your body cool. So, with linen it will wick away sweat and keep you dry in those hot summer months. Not only that, but it is a sustainable option, and as mentioned, will keep you cool.

Cotton is another good choice in the hot months of summer, and these two fabrics are my main choices as well.

I bought these pants from LOFT a few years ago, and I am wearing an xs. Somehow that is not always equated with tall. The pants hit a bit above the ankle, so I would have liked them a little longer, but they fit great everywhere else. I  found this pair on Mango, and it comes in 5 different colors, if you love them! I chose to wear a strappy sandal with this look, but you could go with the casual vibe here, and wear a cute pair of braided slides, or a fashionable sneaker.

Do you wear certain fabrics only when the weather gets warmer? Are you a fan of linen? Tell me in the comments. Id love to hear from you.

Well I’m not really a fan of linen because it tends to make me look like I slept in my clothes at wrinkles up so fast. However I am a fan of the color you chose in the monochromatic look along with the simple accessories.

I love this colour on you! The tank is such a great fit, buying it in multiple colours was a wise move! I like the feel of linen in hot weather but I’m not a fan of the creasing – not that we get that much hot weather here!

Linen is nice for staying cool, especially with the humidity we get here in STL. We’ve gone straight from winter to summer I feel like with just a few nice ‘spring’ days. I love the color of those trousers and the cute tie on them.

It is not quite yet linen weather here in San Francisco (we’ve had an unseasonably cold spring so far), but hoping it will be soon! Love the cut of your tank—I’m going to check those out!

It’s funny how we struggle with the wrinkles in linen. I’m trying to embrace them on my body and in my clothing, haha.

Such a gorgeous colour! I don’t like to wear linen, because of the wrinkles, but it’s the best thing to wear when it’s warm.

Great look, Jess! I need to try linen. I’ve always shied away because it often wrinkles, but maybe I should give it go. Ha! I was surprised to find my SIA post was the most clicked. Nice!

those pants look great on you, I like the brown accessories with the olive 🙂

I don’t actually have a lot of linen in my wardrobe despite the heat here! I find linen blends work better as they wrinkle less, but are still just as cool in the heat!

Thanks for the link up! Hope your week is off to a good start!

I love linen pants but boy I have had a hard time finding the perfect pair! These look great on you! I was hoping to find a white or off white pair but I have been striking out. They all seem to be see through and I don’t like when the pockets show through. Darker colors seem to be the best bet.
Thanks for the link up Jess, I love the way you styled this outfit!

Even though our climate is vastly different to yours I do love linen particularly for trousers. Funnily enough once you accept the comfort and quality of the fabric the creases just don’t matter.
