THT- What I’m Packing for Our Trip to Martha’s Vineyard- A Capsule Wardrobe

I thought I would share the capsule wardrobe I am bringing to Martha’s Vineyard.

A Capsule Wardrobe for Martha’s Vineyard

Most pieces will mix and match with the black or white bottoms for a capsule wardrobe.

I also use packing cubes to make it easier, and convenient to packing just what you need .

Using a carryon and a bag on the plane, that should be it.

I will be taking:

With black and white pieces, I often bring a colorful scart or earrings to bring color to the face.

pants– Mixing and matching with

white denim ( love these and this pair -they are on sale!)

black slit pants from Clara Sunwoo

dress- The halter dress with a liquid leather jacket ( for going out to dinner)

tops-

black top with waist tie

blue side tie top- no longer sold, this one is a pretty one

blue floral top

black 3/4 length top

Sweaters- Lightweight cashmere camel sweater that can be worn with the black pants or white jeans, a black tunic to wear with either bottom.

Shoes– I bring a pair of black heels for dinner

Will wear sneakers on the plane ( one pair)

Bringing a pair of sandals (casual for walking)

Blazer

1 black blazer. This is another layering piece I can wear over top of any of the tops and with the bottoms.
I tried to keep pieces mainly black, white for the capsule, but added a few colors-camel, blues.

I do love that the Clara Sunwoo pieces are wrinkle free, so I can even roll them up in my suitcase if I prefer.  Very little will need ironing, with the exception of my black blazer and perhaps the cashmere sweater. I do like to bring a small “Wrinkle releaser” with my in my purse.

Speaking of purses, I will bring my black Bruno Magli bag, (seen with the trench here) as it is small, and I can fit it in my bag for the plane.

What’s the weather like there mid May?

“Daily high temperatures increase by 9°F, from 59°F to 68°F, rarely falling below 51°F or exceeding 77°F. Daily low temperatures increase by 9°F, from 44°F to 52°F, rarely falling below 35°F or exceeding 59°F”

So, it should be pretty mild there. I like to bring layers on a trip like this, or to at least have some lighter sweaters with me. I may be taking and wearing my trench coat, otherwise I will have a blazer or a knit jacket with me.

Our Trip

So ready for a trip! If you have been following my blog, you know that we had to cancel Italy (last Oct) as I was at my worst with Pudendal Neuralgia. I have it mostly managed, at this point, and believed I could do a 2-hour flight to Boston and then the Ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. I can at least walk around on the Ferry and won’t have to be stuck in a seat. I have my “Should- Have -Been-Bedazzled-in Gold” seat cushion I will take everywhere, as long as it enables me to sit longer.  So, this is a bit of a test, but one I think I can pass! I am in such need of a change of scenery! So, we will be leaving on the 16th, and there will not be a linkup for 2 Tuesdays. You will be able to catch my antics and trip on social media, by following along on Instagram. I will do what I can there. Just need to get away a bit, and we will be the Memorial Day crowds as well. I’m ready for some some good clam chowda! Mmmm.

CODE EDS10- CLARA SUNWOO

Here is my link to Clara Sunwoo

I debating between white sneakers and these Vince Camuto leopard sneakers I got last year.

These packing cubes are fantastic! When I did pack for Italy, I could get 2 weeks worth of clothes in a carryon suitcase.

He must know that something is going on! He’s not getting off the bed.

My trench coat

These are some of the pieces in pictures, I will be bringing. Haven’t decided which sneakers yet 😉

This may be my second going out to dinner outfit. I will have the blazer or the trench to wear as well.

Do you try a capsule wardrobe when you’ve traveled? Or do you prefer to just pack everything you want?

Thanks for joining me at Turning Heads Tuesday, and I appreciate your comments.

Have a great week!

Jess xx

So excited for your trip! I loved the outfits you have brought along. And the weather there sounds so perfect. I try to do a capsule wardrobe packing since I have to do it for my son and hubby as well. Usually I base it off colors if there’s no activity planned. Have a great vacation Jess!

I prefer to take everything although I do try to take a capsule. We’re away at the moment, 4 days hiking, and I still seem to have managed to bring 2 outfits for each day! Hope you have a wonderful break, I have been looking forward to it on your behalf as I know it means a lot x

I love to pack in a capsule sort of way to get more options. We have a vacation to NC coming up and I settled on navy, white, olive with a couple pop of orange. Love packing cubes especially for airplane packing!

Very different colours on the top then I usually see on you. But very pretty! Great looking sneakers too.
