Tips on Wearing a Floral Blazer

Hello friends

Now I think we can say that Spring is officially here. We have gotten some rain over the weekend, but the temps are getting warmer. I thought I would wear one of my favorite Floral blazers and style it with grey denim for one take on wearing a floral blazer. I will share some other ways I will wear this blazer over the course of the season in case you are in the market for one.

This jacket, by Paper Dolls caught my eye as the pink roses looked painted on the blazer in a sea of green-grey background.  I wanted to pair the pinks with greys in this look, so I shopped my closet and decided upon my dark pink peplum top layered under it. My grey Citizens of Humanity jeans would be a nice compliment to the pink tones, as I find I love this color combination. I added nude t-strap heels to focus attention on the blazer as it is more of the statement piece.

Try some of these tips to wearing a floral jacket:

  1. Add it over a jumpsuit for additional color and structure.
  2. Pair a fitted floral jacket over some boyfriend jeans.
  3. Mix patterns such as stripes with the jacket or another smaller scale floral.
  4. Add another trend to your look by wearing it with a pleated skirt.
  5. Pair it with tailored walking shorts for a more sophistocated look.

Hope to see you tomorrow for TURNING HEADS TUESDAY!

I cannot stop wearing florals lately. Your blazer is awesome. Love it with the gray bell-bottom jeans. The pastel blush clutch is beautiful, too.

Welcome by and linkup this Thursday with me, Jess. =)

I have to say something about this jacket. It looks to be digital and being from ASOS, I bet it is because I love their amazing digital clothes and ASOS is one of my favorite places to shop. And this jacket brings back a memory I had totally forgotten about. Flower jackets were very popular during the 60’s and i decided to have a flower matching jacket and skirt for one Easter. I think it was pretty much a sewing disaster but I did it and had totally forgotten about that suit until I saw you jacket. Love it. Now, I need to see what ASOS has on clearance. And as far as the pink/grey. it’s wonderful, but then I like blue/grey, yellow/grey and about anything with grey!! Take care, Terri

Thanks for pointing that out Terri. Yes I am a fan of ASOS and Zara, they are my go-tos! I appreciate you sharing that memory, how neat! My mother tried to teach me to sew but realized quickly that I didnt have the patience! I agree, grey is such a wonderful neutral you can wear it with any color! Thank you for the thoughtful comment! I would love to see a pic of the jacket and skirt!xx

This jacket is so pretty, I’ve never had a floral jacket, and with my love of florals I need to rectify that – as soon as! Jess you really do have a great fashion style, all very different and that’s what I love, sometimes very chic and stylish other times a cute casual look – always finished off to perfection! Lovely inspiration. x Jacqui

Hi Jess…been a busy coupl months for me so I’ve neglected my emails…missed you! Love this floral but as I’ve let my natural silvers come in, I feel I have to be super careful with florals…I’m afraid they will make me look really old! I have one summer floral jacket and I really sruggle with it…how to wear it…I’ll try some of your suggestions…thanks and you look great!!!

Thank you Leslie!I think you could certainly wear bold florals, perhaps just stay away from the tiny printed flowers. ( i do too) I appreciate your comments as alwaus! xx
