Trending Now-Spring Shoes: Slides and Mules

Happy Friday Ladies!
I know that if you are shopping on-line or keeping track of some Spring shoe trends, you would have come across slides and mules as being a big trend right now. I have seen some I love on other people.. but have to cool it a bit on the shoe front as I have been buying espadrilles and sandals recently.

If you like these styles of shoes, they come in many styles and heel heights. I am giving you a bit of a selection here if you want a “heads up” on shopping. I’ll show you some of my favorites.  This is a pair I bought last year from Sam Eldeman, cognac leather straps and a “birkenstock-style” base. These are great to just slip on and wear in the summer with many outfits. ( I’m picturing a linen shirtdress or wide leg pant).

Mule, a French word, is a style of shoe that is backless and often closed-toed. Mules can be any heel height – from flat to high. The style is predominantly (but not exclusively) worn by women. * wikipedia

You may wonder what the difference is between mules and slides? They basically are the same, but slides are meant to be open toe.  Slides can be a little more dressy or refined than mules, but there is a fine line.  Slides are also great to slip on and wear pool side. Whatever the slight difference, I think they are a great easy on-off pair of shoes to own for the summer months.

Here are a pair of Sam Eldeman cognac leather slides I bought last year. ( sim pair)

A sleek black pair would work with any summer outfit. ZARA.

These are a pair that are on my wish list. I love the woven leather.

Boost your spring look with these Halogen mules in red.

Love this colorful material in a bow on these Sam Eldeman slides.

I’ve given you a bit of choice with some of my favorites.

Have fun shopping!

Stay Stylish,

Jess xo

Until recently I just couldn’t imagine myself wearing mules or slides again (after going through a phase in the early noughties) but trends creep up stealthily and now I love them again. Luckily, I’m a hoarder so I still have some from the first time around! That hasn’t stopped me buying more though 😉

Emma, that is the way to go… keeping items until they come back around! I tried one pair and really loved the style as a slide, but they felt a bit awkward on my feet. Love the slides though 🙂 xx

I’ve never been a big fan of mules, but then my tastes have changed since being exposed to so many great fashion bloggers. These are all cute choices, Jess. I’d really just need to try a pair on and see how they feel and look. Better to do that than to pass judgement untested. Ha, ha. Thanks for sharing. – Amy

I can’t beleive it Jodie! I finally pulled the trigger and will be getting mine today. Sam Edelman, the multicolored fabric slides that are similar to the ones I posted. Not open toe though and an espadrille base. Looking forward to wearing them in Savannah on vaca! xx
