Turning Heads Linkup – 4th of July Dress and Look

Hello friends!

I am in my red, white and blue today to celebrate America and the 4th of July. Although, as a child, I never liked fireworks and would cry, I just love our country and the Freedoms we have.

This Month’s Happenings and My 4th of July Look

Well, I am in Asheville, NC as we speak, and going to meet up with Shelbee and Jennie, along with some other ladies, ( I think). My Hubby, the pups and I are not newcomers to Asheville, it is one of our favorite mountain towns. So, when Shelbee asked if I wanted to meet, I thought, ” that would be fun!” More on the meetup later…We are staying in a dog-friendly hotel, Aloft, which has a pretty mountain view from the backyard seating area and dedicates the 3rd floor to a track with Astroturf for the pups to enjoy.

When we took these photos, we were in Moorseville, and what else is more Americana than Coca-Cola? ok, baseball, apple pie…Although, I would doubt the claims of coca cola “relieving fatigue” as the mural says. It may make you a bit more hyper with the caffeine but not sure about the rest. I’ll stick to water and Crystal Light as my drinks of choice. Tea at night.

I chose my paisley print dress in red, white and blue with a touch of green. I  could have gone less traditional with a white and blue dress and added a red bag.. there are lots of ways to style red, white and blue for the Holiday. Add a fitted jean jacket at night and you’ve got your Holiday ensemble. Not to mention, a bit more Americana! ( denim)

Now, I need to find a cute pair of red statement earrings…. Amazon to the rescue! Love these round pair,  this darling 2 for $10 pair ( and the second looks like fireworks!) as well as these statement makers! So many to choose from and so inexpensive.

There are a lot of things going on this month, as it is our 18th Wedding  Anniversary and being that hubby and I both work from home, we say, “18 years! Feels like 30! ” ( of course lovingly!) My boy Gibson turns 8 on July 7th, and I turn 51 on July 8th. We are going to celebrate at the Outer Banks this month and I am ready!

The 4th

Of course, the 4th of July is nearly here and I think it officially kicks of the start of summer, although these 93+ degree days have done that too! We will stay home for the 4th because my little pup Truffles gets so scared. We will cookout – hubby will make burgers and I will have the untraditional salmon burger with feta… its a burger right? I’m not a burger “snob” I just don’t eat red meat 🙂

We will head down to the pool in the afternoon and enjoy this Patriotic holiday. Happy 4th to you!

Looking for more outfit inspo- Check out my 4th of July post from last year.

I know you have seen this bag a fair amount, but it goes with everything and its my favorite for summer!

A vintage piece of jewelry from my collection.

Soft Surroundings gifted me these white floral sandals last summer. Cute huh?

What a gorgeous dress – it’s perfect on you. And I just love those sandals! Asheville is just beautiful – that whole part of NC is. I spent my summers in that area when I was growing up (family vacations and camp) and visited again about 7 years ago. We’re getting ready to take a beach vacation with our two girls (they’re a bit bigger than yours @ 75 lbs and 69 lbs) and I’m so looking forward to it. The larger of my 2 girls is very afraid of booms and cracks. We stayed at home with her this 4th (and 5th and probably tonight too – we’re outside city limits). Thank you so much for the link-up I’ll look forward to browsing the blogs!

Hi Ruth! Seems we are on the same track! We are taking our pups with us to a doggy bnb near the Outer Banks soon. Enjoy your beach trip with your pups. We do the same for the 4th as my girl gets scared and we don’t feel right leaving her. My boy is not bothered by anything, I think he s the exception! Thank you for the lovely compliment. I am posting a bit on Asheville on Monday. xx

That’s so awesome that you, Shelbee and Jennie are going to meet up! Blogger meet ups are such a treat and so fun. I love paisley print. It’s such a unique pattern and it just looks good. I would love to have a hamburger and we are debating about getting one or grilling! LOL Congratulations on 18 years of marriage and happy birthday in advance! Wishing you a fabulous long weekend and happy 4th of July!

What a lovely outfit. It looks great on you. I am in the midst of a badly timed cleanse so there will be no burger for me either. Salmon sounds good. Enjoy it. Happy Fourth of July!

Jess, how fun to meet up with Shelbee and Jennie! I’d love to hear that conversation! Lol! Congrats on your anniversary as well.

Your dress is perfect for the 4th! We will be at home, too, as our dog is crazy scared of fireworks and we have several big shows here along the coast.

Have a wonderful 4th of July.

Asheville is such a nice area, I’m sure you’re enjoying yourselves. I love that you found a Coca Cola sign to use for the photos, it couldn’t be more perfect! I don’t know how you always live up to your blog name, Jess! You know, I don’t eat red meat either. I love salmon burgers, but haven’t thought to have Darling Husband add one to the grill for me–I will this weekend!

I hope you have a nice 4th of July! I’m not american so I don’t really know what it’s like but it seems very fun. Out of all the 4th of July outfits I’ve seen this year, yours is my favourite, it has a lot of detail because of the pattern, unlike the basic red, white and blue outfits I’ve been seeing, yours is special.

Have so much fun meeting up with Shelbie and Jennie!! 🙂 I love this red, white and blue dress on you! Perfect for the 4th!! I need to either do some laundry from our trip soon or figure out something else for the 4th! We wore all of our patriotic tees one day at Disney and it made for some cute photos.
