It’s Palm leaf week here on Elegantly Dressed and Stylish. This tropical print is something I eye every summer. Just makes you feel like you are ready for the next tropical vacation! I wore a palm print yesterday in an olive dress styled for summer. Read HERE.
Happenings and Palm Print Dress
Ah, a new location was had. Since we are now out of lockdown at home, I needed a new atmosphere in which to shoot pictures. The old maple tree would still be there if I needed to return, but I was dying for some flowers and shots on our nature trail. I mentioned we have a mile nature trail behind the house, and we have been going first thing in the morning for our walks, as it is now hitting the 95+ degree mark on some days.
We enjoyed the 4th, with my sister coming up to social distance, and our order from The Fresh Market. Mom and Hubby would get the blue cheese or the portobello and Gouda burger, while I ate the feta salmon burger for our celebration. I made the Strawberry goat cheese salad, and had the traditional baked beans and corn on the cob. Our dessert would be pound cake with fresh strawberries and blueberries with a dollop of whipped cream, . We planned to have vanilla ice cream to top it off, but the girl at Fresh Market gave us Cookie and Cream instead. That’s alright, Ill take it!
We watched Hamilton Sunday night, and mom was as excited to see it, as she has seen the live show in Pittsburgh last year. I loved it! The energy and the music was so good!
My boy Gibson, turns 9 today! He will get his special food, ” Freshpet” and we have party hats! I can’t tell you how much they mean to me and how they have helped me keep my sanity over the years. Tomorrow is my birthday, the big 5-2! I will be recovering from the dry needling, but one day this week I get to choose a restaurant for a Bday dinner. I received a new computer for my Birthday and am so thrilled it is faster, as my current Lenovo computer is slow as molasses for processing photos.
Palm Dress- Trapeze Style
Palm prints have always caught my eye. I have at least 3 or more dresses in my closet with this print. Now, I am not a fan of men’s Hawaiin Shirts, but palm prints I like. This Trapeze dress from Mango is one I bought last year, but did not yet share on the blog.
“TRAPEZE. A TRAPEZE dress is a dress style that is narrow at the shoulders and very wide at the hem of the dress. It’s like an A-LINE dress, but the TRAPEZE dress has a much wider hem than the A-LINE, and they often end below the knee” * wikipedia
So an easy, breezy dress for the hot days of summer.
Here is another example of a trapeze dress.
So, the idea is, is the dress is quite wide across the bottom giving it a triangular shape. The dress is flowy and I just loved the color combination of pale pink and green. I am wearing a light slip underneath as mom noticed its sheerness!
The Andre Assous espadrilles were the perfect match with this voluminous summer dress.
