Turning Heads Linkup – A Pine Green Gingham Dress

Hello friends

Well, its Turning Heads Tuesday and also our 19th Wedding Anniversary! Despite the fact we can’t travel, we will celebrate by ordering from one of my favorite restaurants, one of our favorite, called The Fig Tree. I shared my 50th Birthday celebration there,  2 years ago on the blog.

Today is all about keeping cool in this linen green gingham sundress from Mango.

Outfit and Happenings

We planned on going to Europe for our 20th next year, but as you know its all up in the air. In the meantime, I’ll try and make the best of the day at home. There is also a heatwave here in the South and the real feel has been near 100 on certain days. Ah, anything over 90 is hot, right?

I Have been able to get my hair done twice so far, after quarentine, and use Kerestase products for conditioning and also for blow drying. But it is a challenge in the summer to avoid the sweat and fallen frizzy hair you get when it is this hot. See my little pain patch below? I have one more step to get off of it! It’s been a long journey!

Now, back to the dress.

When you live in the South, it is mandatory to have linen clothes. Really! You may have seen this dress, which has a vintage vibe and a colorful plaid. This dress has a vintage vibe as well, and I loved that it wasn’t traditional black and white, but pine green. The buttons down the front and midi style are a great detail as well.

I wore the dress I had on yesterday to a new vineyard, and yes we practically go each Saturday and don’t get tired of it. The scenery was beautiful , again near the Blue Ridge mountains and they have some of the best wine at this NC Vineyard. No Scuppernog or Muscadine thank you! I love dry wines! I prefer reds but in the summer, I am all about either chilled wine, or some refreshing whites. We had a new grape to try this weekend, The Mansing Grape. Touted as a “Red lovers white wine” it was very refreshing, crisp and with pear and fruity tones. A new favorite. My sister and niece joined us as we social distanced and brought the pups as well. I am a happy camper when I am around great company  enjoying wines, and could sit looking at the view all day. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and they were wearing masks as well as selling the wines outdoor.

I bought this dress last year and this is its first debut! I have had a real desire to shop a bit, but isnt it funny when you are ready to shop, you don’t find much!

Are you a fan of gingham like I am ?

    Hello Jess,

Happy 19th wedding Anniversary! I’m sure you both enjoyed yourselves. I hope that next year you get to go to Europe. I’ve never used Keratese shampoo but I’ve heard really good things about it. I’ll have to give it a try now because your hair looks fabulous.

Pine green. One of my favorite shades of green. So pretty on you with your lovely coloring and complexion. I tried on a similarly cut dress today in a gray-blue stripe. Loved it on the hanger but it had this very strange lining in it that I got stuck on my hips and couldn’t get the dress up or down or buttoned!! Not sure what in the world was wrong. This gingham is perfection on you. And those earrings…swoon!! Happy anniversary…hope you can make your travel plans come true next year.

Happy anniversary! I love your dress, gingham is great for Summer. It’s true that when you feel like shopping you don’t find anything you like, but when you’re trying not to spend temptation is everywhere!

I don’t even bother with my hair in the summer because no matter what I try it will turn curly and frizzy so I just try to work with it and tame my curls a bit! When the humidity goes down then I can try to straighten it again. Yours always seems to look good so whatever you are doing, you’ve got it down! I love your beautiful dress! The softer colors in the print are so pretty!

Just love this green color, a color I am not used to seeing in ginghams prints, but love it!! Oh, it is hotter than heck here, too! I hope you get your special trip next year. This Covid stuff has been so frustrating and never-ending.

Happy anniversary Jess! We’ve celebrated our 34th anniversary last Sunday, but we didn’t do anything – not even bought cards!!! It’s such strange old times we felt it just didn’t seem right. I look forward to getting away some day or visiting our favourite restaurant soon! I love the dress though, it’s a mint green shade that looks perfect on you! Jacqui x

Oh my, Jess. I am so loving this dress. It is very vintage-y looking and the color is fantastic, especially with your complexion and hair color. Earrings are gorgeous.Your accessories are spot on as usual My husband and I were supposed to be in Europe for six weeks this June/July including a transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary. Hoping for next year, but things are so crazy, who knows?

Happy anniversary. Hope you get to belatedly celebrate with a fun trip in the near future!

Happy 19th wedding anniversary Jess! I hope you guys have a good day celebrating even if it’s at home. I love your green linen dress. It looks so pretty and unique! It’s been in the three digits for us in my neck of the woods so I can relate to what you are saying. At least you guys are going out, I don’t even try because it’s just too much hassle. I hope your day is going well so far and happy Tuesday!

    Jess,

    Happy anniversary!
That is a wonderful gingham dress on you!

I don’t know where my comment went so I ding it again!
I hope you do get to Europe soon to celebrate your anniversary!
We had to cancel our trip this year too.
Hopefully we will flatten the curve and once again be able to travel overseas again.

    Keeping my fingers crossed.

    Happy anniversary Jess!

Your look wonderful in your green gingham dress!
We miss traveling to Europe and hope we can resume travel soon!
This coronavirus has really changed so much in our lives that I hope we can flatten the curve before Christmas.
I just wrote about taking a road trip from Atlanta to Park City and was amazed at the people along the way.
Now Utah mandates wearing masks in stores and public areas that are crowded.

We’ll have to see and wait if this virus can get under control.

    Hugs,
    Robin

Happy Anniversary to you and Roy! I am loving this green gingham on you. The color is magnificent and gingham is always so good! I think it has actually been hotter in northern NY the past few weeks than it has been in the south. We have had days upon days of mid-90 degree temperatures with more coming next week. It is just too hot for me. Stay cool, my friend!

happy anniversary to you! We went to Europe last year for our 10 year wedding anniversary and I’m glad we did, lots of happy memories with the kids and it’s looking like there won’t be any international travel until after march next year Qantas (the Australian airline) is saying! It’s such a shame things aren’t safe lately 🙁

Thank you for the link up!
