27 Jun Turning Heads Linkup- Bright Colors for Summer

Hi Friends! Well, it is officially summer and it is HOT! in NC. This is the time of the year that there are usually two choices: air conditioning or pool! I hope you had a great weekend. We spent part of it at the Charlotte Symphony outdoor concert, where it was Broadway night. I loved the songs from “Grease” as I had the album and remember acting it out with my girlfriend. ( I was Sandy, she was Danny 🙂 ). They also played songs from Les Miserables, one of my favorites being, “I Dreamed a Dream”. Today I am talking about bright summer colors.

Today I decided that I wanted to wear bright colors for summer. Vogue is showing bright sunshine yellow to be a trend on the runway this summer. I can’t get enough of the pretty summer dresses that are out there and finally found a mustard yellow one I just bought from Zara that I look forward to wearing. What I enjoy about summer are the pool days, the vineyard hopping, and outdoor concerts. I enjoy being outside as much as possible and I have my cat eye sunnies on 🙂

Who doesn’t love white in the summer? I am planning on sharing some all white looks this summer as the crisp all white look is just so fresh for this time of year. This eyelet pencil skirt has gotten a fair amount of use over the years and is a mainstay in my summer wardrobe.

I decided to “shop my closet” today as I will be sharing some dresses in the next couple weeks that I have yet to wear on the blog. I This chartruese yellow mesh top is so light and airy, I’ve had it for years as well. I knew I wanted to wear some soft, bright colors for summer, ( bright white and yellow)  and went with a Tiffany Blue as a compliment. This quilted Kate Spade bag and jeweled necklace, and bow drop earrings would do the trick! I also have shoe love for these irredescent blue heels from ASOS.

Pantone’s Spring/Summer colors are some of my favorites and share a commonality with my love for the outdoors. “Primrose Yellow” is  a beautiful summery yellow that I am very attracted to in the summer months! How could you not be as it reminds me of such sunny days. Although my blue hues here are more “baby blue” or “Tiffany blue” there are several Pantone colors making an appearance for Spring/Summer. The ocean water and blue skies remind us of our summer beach days. “Flame” another of Pantone’s Spring colors, and a bright orange,  would also look compliment these Summery shades.
