Turning Heads Linkup- Fall Print Dress

Hello friends

Happy Turning Heads Tuesday and Sept 1st! Hard to believe when March- May went as slow as a snail’s pace and this summer has flown by!

Well, today I am sharing a Pre-Fall look with one of my older Karina Dresses.

Outfit

I haven’t worn this dress in an age, and I love it as it reminds me of Fall with all of the leaves in the print. It is one of my favorite styles, The Megan, which is a cut like a vintage 40s dress. The material, as you know, doesn’t wrinkle and is made in the USA. I have worked with Karina for many years. Although this print is not there, you can find many new sensational colors and prints on their website at Karina Dresses.

I will be sharing a new style with you all on the blog in the next month that I am excited about.

I kept the palette neutral with tans, congac sandals, and added a mix of print with my snakeskin scarf. Another thing I enjoy about Fall is the ability to layer and mix patterns… I could easily transition this dress when it gets colder by wearing a suede moto jacket and boots, or a long cardigan and some booties.

Family and the “Game of Life”

We had a nice day yesterday, as my niece comes over to take guitar lessons from me. This is her 3rd lesson and she is learning some beginning chords. My sister then, drops off our grocery list and comes armed each week, usually with Costco groceries ( where she works). She has been so helpful too!

We ate a fabulous Italian dinner my mom cooked, upside down Manicotti, and I don’t care which way is up, it is delicious! I did tell my sister that my mom could have put a bowl of ricotta and mozerrella in the oven and I would have eaten that. Cheese. It’s just that good!

Now my mom and I played the new “Life” board game, and I got out the older version we had for years and played that yesterday. I told my sister there are a few things wrong.

First, the “baby” or “kids” you get are not smaller than the adults. Still the same pink and blue pegs with no personaility, facial features , etc and that “child” in the backseat weighs 120 pounds like you do!! 🙂

Second, where are the hills and valleys? They no longer exist on the new board game, and the board is now folded into 4 sections, making it a bit “lighter” in quality.

Also, if we really are playing the Game of Life, where is the “Coronavirus Edition”?  Land on a space.. “Forgot your mask, go back 5 spaces and lose a turn! ”

Buying all your food on-line.. pay the bank $$$$. “Out of Flour at Wallmart.. Can’t make that bread. Back 2 spaces.

Saved a dog at the shelter during Quarantine ” move ahead 5 spaces… ”

Ordered food curbside…A-Gain.  Move 1.

C’mon, where is  this “Life” board coming from?

Gosh, that has to be the most perfect fall dress ever. Love the colors, the shapes of the leaves, the accessories you styled the dress with. Perfection.
Enjoyed your Covid take on the game of Life. When I am reading books, I forget that the characters are not necessarily living through a pandemic. When they mention
going on vacation, flying somewhere, eating out, going to the movies, I find myself asking…what about Covid? Where are the masks? Will there be 14 day quarantines after the flights and vacation? Will we ever see the world the same way again??

You had me laughing at the “Life” board game. You may just be on to something. Haha.
I am so ready to buy some new clothes. I did not buy anything new all Summer. I have been waiting until I find a job so I can start a whole new wardrobe.

Jess I love this leaves pattern – it’s so vintage 70s looking and of course suits you beautifully! – and your version of the board game is inspired… they should SO make that into an actual game, lol!!

Thanks for hosting, I’m trying to get back into joining link ups more regularly 😀

This dress is so pretty, I love the vintage shape! And your Game of Life joke is hilarious – there definitely needs to be a coronavirus version. Another box could be “You forget your mic is on during your Zoom meeting – back 2 spaces”. Hehe.

    Miles of smiles,

Haha! Love your version of “Life!” I imagine we will start to see that soon. I love the Monopoly games with local names–we have the San Clemente version. Yes, cheese is my failing, too. LOVE it! That dress is so fall perfect and the scarf is a brilliant pairing with it, Jess! Well done. Have a great week.
