Turning Heads Linkup – Green Long Floral Dress with Black Croc Booties

Hi Friends!

This weekend was the first weekend of cooler weather. When these pictures were taken it was in the 90s, so I didn’t layer just yet. This Mango dress caught my eye after I saw it on Hilda, and I had to snatch it up with its purple and green print, I am striving for dresses I can wear nearly year-round and layer as the weather gets colder.

.

Weekend/October Plans

How is everyone? Sailing through October, we have some things planned. We bought our Halloween costumes, and if all goes well, I will have pictures on the blog at some point. I am excited to put my pooches in their costumes, though, when I tried them on the pups, they stood frozen in the kitchen, with this look, ” What are you doing to me?” I love this time of year, with many Fall festivals, Octoberfests and activities to enjoy. I am making a Halloween cocktail, and recently found these skull glasses on Amazon to get in the “Spirit” of things, get it? Spirit? I’ve come across this from Country Living-40 Easy Halloween Cocktails, and my sis and I will make one 🙂

Over the weekend, we went to see The Joker, and the newscasts were making me paranoid. Nevertheless, we went to a smaller theatre near our house, where you sit in an office like padded chairs, have a table and good food and wine. I enjoyed a Chardonnay and a hummus veggie wrap. Mmmm. The movie was nothing like other superhero movies, but rather dark. We did enjoy it as to see, what the imagined life of  “The Joker” might be before he became a villain. Joaquin Pheonix was amazing, and that was the reason I went to see it, as he has rave reviews for his acting. There are some great films out now, which always seems to happen this time of year.

My Outfit

What else was great about Sunday? This was the first day I walked around and wasn’t sweating! I kid you not. Between the warm weather here and Meno Symptoms, I was happy for the breeze and cooler air.

This flowy long dress caught my eye as the green print with purple buds seemed to be a dress I could wear nearly year-round. Add a moto jacket, or sweater over top of it, when the weather gets colder, and it works for Fall. I have a rose-pink moto that would be unexpected and the more traditional black. Don’t forget the tights! This dress is no longer available, as it was on sale for $50 and is out of stock. I love the details of the puffy sleeves and the tiny buttons in the front of the dress. I have been waiting to wear my Dolce Vita croc leather booties from Nordie’s Sale this year, and this was a perfect time. I checked to see and they are no longer in stock.

. Another black accent with the croc leather JJ Winters clutch. I’ve been waiting for a chance to wear these gorgeous green Kendra Scott earrings I scored on Poshmark. I love the black line design which adds character to these elegant green earrings. Green is a hot color this Fall and I am eyeing a few pieces to add to my closet.

I also love dresses that can be worn all of the year round – there are some lovely prints round at the moment. The green print on your dress looks fabulous on you. I too went to see ‘Joker’ at the weekend and agree with all you said. To me, it was a sad insight into declining, mental health without any support. What a fantastic performance from Joaquin Phoenix. I’m also looking forward to watching ‘Judy’, with Renée Zellweger. Enjoy your weekend!

      Hi Alison!
Thank you. I do too, that is what I am tempted to add to my closet as I can wear this in the Spring with sandals. I did enjoy the JOker and Josquin Pheonix was excellent! Enjoy Judy too, there are some great films out!

I love your dress, the green looks fabulous on you. Very stylish booties, they’ll go with so many outfits. I haven’t been to the cinema for years – I think the last film I saw was Moana!

This dress was made for you Jess! The color suits you and it is a beautiful shade of green. The button down details are a favorite too! I don’t watch much TV or movies these days but will ask hubby to keep an eye out for the Joker once it comes out. It sounds interesting! I hope your week is off to a great start.

Jess, you find the cutest things at Mango! I am loving this green and purple floral dress. The croc bag and booties are perfect with it! Thanks for the review of Joker. My son wants us to go see it with him, and, like you, I wasn’t sure, having heard it’s so dark. But now I want to see it! Can’t wait to see your babies in their Halloween costumes! Mine would never go for it! Lol!

    xx Darlene

This dress is gorgeous! Does it open all the way down the front? I could see it worn as a duster type of kimono/jacket thing if it did! Love those booties (we all know I have a weakness for booties).
