Turning Heads Linkup- Leopard Cardigan with Faux Leather Leggings

Morning friends!

You have seen some of my recent Christmas or Holiday outfits, and this week it is about cozy layering. We will be heading to my in-laws in Pennsylvania on the 22nd, so I will dress in layers for sure.

Outfit and Holiday Plans

We will be off to Harleysville with the puppies in tow, next week. Fortunately, we stop at my brother’s house in Virginia, giving us a break from the drive. The next day we drive 4 hours to PA. I’m always excited to give gifts, see family and enjoy the Holidays! We have some wonderful traditions with my in-laws, although one I admit I am still not used to, is opening gifts on the evening of the 25th. I only have memories of tearing into presents at 5 in the morning as a kid! But, as an adult, I can be patient. LOL. I do love finding that special present for family and seeing their expression.

I’ll be wearing layers in the car, dressing warm for the drive. This outfit is an easy “uniform” of sorts. I am wearing my older Ann Taylor faux leather leggings I have had for years, paired with a black cami I bought at Target. This is my “base” or what is known as column dressing when you dress in one color, and layer wearing cardigans, jackets, blazers, or the third piece.

This leopard cardigan from Chicwish is made very well, heavier than I thought, but great for those colder winter days. It has pockets, which I love! I’ve added a pop of rich color with my Rebecca Minkoff hobo bag and burgundy brooch. My vintage earrings add some sparkle! Who doesn’t want that for the Holidays? 🙂

Thank you Sherry! I’ve had it for awhile and things can get lost in the bottomless pit, but I do love a hobo style. 🙂

I totally love that leopard cardigan! As much as I prefer bright colors, you can’t beat black for going with everything. This is a fabulous look on you, Jess!

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Hi Cheryl. yes! great minds! I am asking Santa for a pair of faux leather pants, not leggings as I think I would wear them often. Happy Holday!

Jess, I love that sweater! Looks amazing with the cami and leggings, too. And burgundy is perfect with the leopard. Love it!

Wishing you safe travels and the happiest of holidays.

Hi Darlene! thank you! I heard about the Spanx leggins and was inerested, but then I heard they were kind of heavy. I think they might feel too heavy in NC and I dont like any compression. So, these are lighter. Merry Christmas to you and your family! xx

Jess, this is a great combo and love the burgundy with the leopard print. How to the leggings feel? Do you sweat in them?

I’m wearing my leopard cardigan today, but with black denim. I really love how you styled this with the faux leather leggings, I need to try that next!! I love the burgundy pendant on your cardi and how it matches your burgundy bag. Pretty details! Have safe travels!

You look fabulous, of course! The “formula” style of dressing is so simple and so effective. It is unusual to have to wait till Christmas day evening–who can wait that long?!

Jess, I adore this outfit! It is perfect for travel, too. I like to still be put together even on the long drives! We are heading to PA on Tuesday for a few days. We will be in Bethlehem which is less than an hour from Harleysville. I don’t think we have too many commitments while we are in town, so if you are free for a few hours one of the days, let me know! Maybe we can meet for lunch or something. I know it is the holidays and family demands definitely take priority!

Jess, what a great sweater! It looks almost like a sweater coat, since it’s heavier. Where in VA does your brother live? I’m from Richmond and that’s where we’re going to be for Christmas. My son and DIL will be in PA with her family. Sounds kind of like parallel universes in a small way. Have a great day! XO

Have the best time with your family! And we used to open presents in the morning as well. Except my mom would make us wait until after breakfast. Your outfit is fabulous. Something fun about your style is how you add all the details from brooch to nails etc! I love it!
