Turning Heads Linkup-Misook- Elegant Dressing with Comfort

Hello Ladies,

I am excited to introduce to you today a company who combines elegance with comfort and style, Misook. The Brand began in 1985 with Misook Doolittle’s desire to create elegant pieces that were also comfortable. “A Korean-American from humble beginnings, Misook began her line in her New York home, hand-knitting one-of-a-kind pieces that met her distinctive style needs.”

The Brand, Misook was then born and women were very interested in her well-known, signature machine washable “silky knit” that was not only easy to care for but tailored to a sophisticated look. What I love about this knit wear is that it almost feels like you aren’t wearing something structured, it is that comfortable!

What does “elegance’ mean? Audrey Hepburn once said, “Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.’

And added elegant touch with my vintage red necklace

Well, being that “elegance’ is part of my blog, I define it as ‘ graceful and stylish in how one carries herself and personal style. When I was reviewing the brand, I certainly thought that they captured elegance and sophistication.

As you know, with my EDS, I have to wear clothing that is comfortable. Don’t we all want that? Comfort shouldn’t be sacrificed for style, as most often, if it is, those are the garments hanging in the back of the closet, unworn. Looking through the gorgeous on-line catalogue, I saw timeless pieces that have structure but also those same pieces would be comfortable and move with me.

I chose this beautiful Vintage Rose lattice sheer  jacket, as I have been looking to add a red jacket to my closet and i loved the deep rich red and textured look.  With my red hair,  I have always loved jewel tones. Besides, the ruby rich look of this jacket, the color red is trending right now, and is always a standout color in my book. In addition, the lighter jacket is perfect for our temperatures here in N.C. making it a very versatile piece.

What sets Misook apart from other companies is that the clothing is;

  • Machine washable, wrinkle free and fade resistant ( Makes it much easier to maintain the clothing and who doesn’t love wrinkle free/) I will certainly be able to pack this jacket for my trip to Italy next year! I love that it is a great travel piece.
  • Fit- Flattering on all body types, Misook has a cling free fabric. I am wearing an XS in this blazer.
  • Mix and Matching- the Fabrics and patterns of Misook garments are meant to be mixed and matched for a cohesive wardrobe.
  • Quality- Misook uses high quality production as the material used does not fade over time or stretch. I love that my jacket will not need dry cleaning! it is machine washable which makes it more affordable, hence no dry cleaning bills.

I could see this jacket worn to an office, or as a date night over a LBD, or pair of dark denim, a colorful scarf  and some statement heels.  My hubby and I like to go to shows at the Blumenthal Theatre, and I could see this jacket paired with some gold statement jewelry for a special night out. Another way to wear this jacket for an easy put together look would be to wear it over a jumpsuit.  I have one in mind in my closet!

I decided to style the red lattice textured jacket with a column of black styled underneath. I am wearing a satin ruffled shell ( LOFT) with a black a line skirt. ( Ann Taylor) I added pops of red with my dangling red jeweled earrings and a vintage red delicate  necklace. in addition, adding leopard print heels also created added more print and visual interest, as did the textured leather clutch.

Column dressing with black ruffled shell and chiffon skirt.

I love a textured look for visual interest. The lattice style blazer,  the black clutch and the ruffled shell all add texture to the outfit.

The wrinkle free, no dry clean clothes that Misook offers would have been great when I taught in the classroom, especially Music. To not have my clothes wrinkle from all of the movement and getting up and down would have been a dream.

Beautiful jacket. Love the texture of that jacket, Looks like it would be lightweight, but still offer some warmth. I checked out their site and spotted the black boot skirt with silver studs I’m now lusting after! They’ve got some really beautiful knits and much more budget friendly than St Johns.
BTW, your post reminds me, I need to get myself leopard ballet flats!
