Turning Heads Linkup – More Snakeskin, Blush for Spring

Morning Ladies! It is funny. I seemed to have acquired more snakeskin pieces even without thinking about it as a trend, years ago. I love the neutral print, and how smart it looks with any color, like leopard . I put together this look as I have seen blush and snakeskin together and just love this soft color palette.

I just love this fresh look with neutrals and soft pink and bought the top recently from H&M. I don’t do much shopping there, but this was a great addition for about $20! I had the blush 3/4 sleeve blazer in my closet for years and love that the snakeskin print is more visible with these sleeves. I paired it with some destructed white jeans. Yes! Nothing wrong with a bit of rock and roll vibe today! The pink blush Andre Assous sandals were gifted to me last Spring. I love a contrast of the neutral print in snakeskin and the soft, feminine pale pink blazer.

I just have a love for straw or rattan bags or clutches for the summer. I bought this brown straw clutch on Poshmark about 2 years ago, and enjoy pairing it with many neutral looks. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite straw bag picks on the blog soon.

Hubby’s 5-0

Today is my hubby’s 5-0! Yes, I am the older woman! haha.  I have surprises, and since I don’t think he will read this today, I thought I could post my plan. ( wa-ha-ha-ha, witch-like laugh) My mom and I thought that getting him 50 little things in bags would be cool for this big day. I bought all kinds of snacks, some great ink pens ( he never has any) shirts, 6 packs of beer… I went kinda crazy at Target.

I also ordered a chocolate cake with ganache filling as there is no such thing as “too much chocolate” where my hubby is concerned. I will go pick up that and the beer today and we will celebrate.

We celebrate on Saturday officially going out to a highly rated Eddie V’s in Uptown Charlotte, the best seafood! ( so it is a treat for me too!)

Hi Jess! I’ve been MIA for a while…my job has consumed me!! You look fabulous here!! I love the blouse and blazer. I’ve moved away from white pants bc I can’t wear them to work…they would get so dirty. Would this work with black pants? Happy Easter!!

Hi Leslie, thanks so much. Good to hear from you. I would suggest a grey or slate pair if you have it, as the grey and taupe in the snakeskin, along with the light blush pink would be softer. Of course, there aren’t rules per say, so if you have black, it would work too. 🙂 xx

Happy belated 50th to your hubby! What a milestone! Seafood sounds good and his cake too. Yum! I love snakeskin pattern but I have not found one for me. I love the pink and the snakeskin pattern together. It complements each other beautifully and the white jeans softens the look. I hope your hubby had a great celebration and wishing you a fabulous half week!

What a great birthday idea, Jess!! Can’t wait to read about his reaction! I’ve been getting ready for a beach theme party for my husband’s upcoming birthday. It’s a big one, so we’re having a big party. Woohoo! Love that pink blazer with the snakeskin blouse. I just ordered a pink blazer–can’t wait to style it, too!

That’s funny—I was this close to buying a snake-print midi skirt and realized I already owned a mini. Clearly I need to clean out my closet, because there’s so much in there that I’m forgetting about what I already own! Happy 50th to your hubby!

I discovered the other day that one of my pretty heels’ print was snakeskin and that I have not worn them enough. They are somewhat of a wedge heel so I really can dress them up or even wear them with something casual. Your outfit is lovely, I especially love the blush and white together. Soft and feminine!

Thank you Mirelle, I know what you mean, I have had snakeskin heels for awhile, before it was popular. Your wedges sound nice! Glad you like the look. xx

Oh my goodness. That cake sounds mouth watering. More chocolate is always good! Love that soft blush color on you. I always think I can’t wear pink shades because I’ve got reddish hair. But when I see it on you, I really love how it looks. So I’m going to have to expand my color horizons!

Not being a snake lover i get a little bit fidgety around the print, but teaming it with the white and pink seems to soften the effect, so we’ll done you. And we’ll done you for thinking up the 50 bags of treats with your mum, what fun for him! Best wishes up to the 5-0 Birthday Boy.
