Turning Heads Linkup- Pastels for Spring

It all begins around Easter, doesn’t it? That love for pastel colors and Springtime? I’m sharing a look today with several soft pastels with a white denim skirt.

Pastels for Spring

I know! Almost as groundbreaking as florals for Spring, am I right? It just is one of those things. Pastel shades of baby blue, pale pink and butter yellow, are some of the pretty colors shown now in Fashion. I do always think of pastels around Easter time, as I used to have a “suit” from the Spiegel catalogue that was a mint green. I was wearing blazers early on! The eggs that we dyed as kids over Easter, were often in pastel shades.

Here I am styling a “new to me” mauve linen blazer. It is from Mango, but I bought it secondhand on Poshmark for $30 shipped. I love that it is a bit more casual without a button, and is made quite well. I have added quite a few linen pieces over the last 2 years, as it gets plenty hot here quickly in the South.

This pinkish color blends harmoniously with my periwinkle Brahmin bag and adds a nice textured touch to the look.

I’ve done a “white column” here with my NYDJ white denim pencil skirt and white tee.

What’s Happening?

We had a very nice time on Saturday with my sister. We ate outside, in view of Lake Norman, and enjoyed a wonderful crab cake salad lunch with a glass of vino. It was nice to eat outside and chat on a warm day. We then went to a popular local hangout, “Jennies”, which makes delectable ice cream and  we all enjoyed the first taste of the summery treat.

I did some gardening as well, and my Azaleas are starting to bloom, fiery red, peach, and hot pink colors. My rose bushes are quite large and have begun to bloom. My mom is more of the “expert gardener” so she has helped out as well.

I have also been playing my guitar more, even though it has been some time since I played ( due to Ehlers Danlos). I am getting back to it and this weekend worked on “Nothing Else Matters” and “Blackbird”. I bought 2 guitar pedals that I have been experimenting with , that I will share on IG Stories soon, so check it out!

What pastel colors do you want to add to your closet?

I am a big fan of butter yellow, lilac, sky blue and mint.

This blazer is so pretty! I’ve been wanting to get a blazer in a pinkish shade for the Spring, I always see them at J. Crew Outlet, yet I never grab one in fear I won’t wear it enough. Those earrings are really pretty, too and I adore the baby blue of your bag. A crab cake salad? OH YUM. I’ve never had crab cake on a salad before!

Ooh, I love all these colors, Jess, but I would say pink and yellow are my favorites. And yes, it does start at Easter! Lol! I’ve been planning a white denim skirt post and may do a Style Steal with your post! Love the whole look, my friend.
