04 Jun Turning Heads Linkup – Soft Surroundings for Summer by Me and Mom

Hello friends

Well, I convinced my mom to be in my “photoshoot” for Soft Surroundings, as she loves the brand, and I had sent her a few pieces for Mother’s Day. You saw me last week in my white and mustard yellow vintage inspired Mango dress, and today I am wearing a bright yellow jersey dress from Soft Surroundings.  I must have the summer sun on my mind!

Summertime and the livin is easy..

a song called, “Softly as in a Morning Sunrise.”, a jazz tune by      I played at my senior recital.

One of my favorites- a Frank Sinatra tune , “Summer Wind”.

Soft Surroundings Outfit

This flared yellow polka dot dress caught my eye when I was looking through the summer selection at Soft Surroundings. It has a cloth belt to accentuate the waist and more of a flared bottom to the dress. It reminded me of something mom might have worn in the 60s.

From Soft Surroundings-

 Pintucks shape your silhouette up top, then flair into a classic A-line. Detachable self-belt. Misses 41″ long. The pintuck lines for me add to the length and elongates the body as well.

I styled it with my favorite pair of white espadrilles, my white rattan bag with bits of tan detailing, a gold cuff, ( no longer on the site, but this similar gold cuff is gorgeous and ON SALE!) and something different, an adjustable gold ring with mother of pearl. ( It’s on SALE!)  This jewelry makes the look more modern.  Soft Surroundings sent me these adorable slides for the summer, but I wanted to wear a dressier shoe. You will see them in other outfits as they will pair nicely with many of the neutral looks I have compiled.

After we drove from PA to VA, we picked up my mom at my brother’s and brought her back to Charlotte for a visit. My sister lives in South Charlotte, so she can kill two birds with one stone. ( Did you ever like that phrase?) Anyhow, mom is be-bopping around and we are showing her some great places we love to visit, restaurants etc.. Sunday, I needed a day of recuperation though, as I have been on the go from traveling to see family and finally felt like I was hit by a Mack truck. I need to remember to slow down and listen to my body, so it was all about Netflix and rest for me Sunday.

Mom’s Outfit

Mom will be 75 this summer, and I couldn’t resist getting her this blue green blouse from Soft Surroundings Outlet. The color looks amazing with her white hair! She borrowed my c/o cuff from Uncommon Goods and brought her Jambu Naomis for walking around. I love this similar Gauze top , ( on sale!) this gauze shirt, ( on sale!)  this mint green tunic

Im wearing The Tremelo lace topper over the dress for going out to a show, dinner ( as we know how cold restaurants keep places!) or pairing more casually with jean shorts and a cami!

Love the hint of yellow in these white flower earrings from Baublebar last year.

I’M HOME AND READY FOR SOME DRY NEEDLING TODAY! My PT will say, “Where do you need needling today, Jess, and my answer will be “Where Don’t I need needling?” 😉
