Turning Heads Linkup- Styling a Spring Sleeveless Dress for Fall

HI friends!

You have seen me in this beautiful silk dress by Caite and Kyla before, when I styled it for Spring on its own with espadrilles. Today I have added a few Fall basics to create a look that works for Fall.

Outfit and Happenings

HI friends!

I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend! Did you shop some sales? Did you have a cookout?

I was tempted to go to our pool, as ours doesnt close until the end of September, as we can get hot days in the month, but there were too many people down there for my liking.

Not to mention, we have had some cooler days this past weekend and I took full advantage to dress more Fall like. It was still too warm for this cardigan but I couldn’t resist styling it for the blog. This New Day pumpkin colored cardi is lighter than some and just what I had in mind in styling this Caite and Kyla dress I received and styled in the summer.

I was in a vintage kinda mood, so I took out my vintage cameo earrings we picked up at a vintage shop in Charleston a few years ago, and my vintage riding leather boots I found in a cute vintage shop in Asheville.

You know Fall colors are my jam! I also love Fall clothes and the ability to layer pieces that I have for more than one season.

If you missed some of my recent Fall Purchases, have a read here.

We went out the other morning to our local Waterbean Coffeeshop, where they have the coffee roaster right inside and it smells oh so good. I had a craving for a pumpkin spice latte and it did not dissapoint! I don’t know if it is just me, or do you get the need to talk to people other than your family? I know that is one reason why the blog is a Godsend these days! I was just thinking as I must be getting desperate calling my pharmacy about my medication and asking to speak to the pharmacist. Nothing unusual there. But calling the pharmacist to ask abut your meds and then ask how is day is going, and wanting to carry on a conversation must say something! I need to talk to people! My hubby is more of an introvert and he is perfectly content with the family chit chat, but I seem to need a bit more. Like I said, thank Goodness for the blog and this community!

So here is how I styled the Caite and Kyla dress for summer. Espadrilles, light earrings and straw bag.

These vintage earrings are more “Fallish” and were purchased at a vintage shop in Charelston a few years ago.

Have you tried wearing your summer outfits transitioned to Fall with the addition of a jacket or cardigan? Changing to boots or booties?

What a stunning dress. That pumpkin color is my favorite color this season. Love how you transitioned this dress into Fall. I am all about transitioning skirts and dresses this time of the year. =) Those cameo earrings are cute too!

This is a lovely combination. I love how the floral pattern worked so well with this rust colored cardigan. Also the gold jewelry is such a lovely and rich tone.

Great styling and love these colours on you Jess. The dress and earings look very pretty, perfect for this time of year. The temperatures have certainly dropped here in the UK, so woollens are needed.

You look very fall forward in that pretty floral dress! We went to the coast to escape the smoke, and I didn’t have any internet access all weekend…but I shopped online as soon as I got home Monday 😉

    Jess,

You always look wonderful in your fall fashion!
That dress is perfect for the fall weather we have in the south and the cardigan is perfect for chilly nights.
I enjoy getting dressed to run errands even though the lipstick is missing from my look these days.
I wonder how the lipstick industry is surviving COVID-19?

    Hugs,
    Robin

It’s amazing how different that dress looks with the rust sweater! Such beautiful fall colors. I definitely DO need to talk to others and make connections out in the “real world.” Things really are still so different, even as we begin to re-emerge. It makes you wonder what the “new normal” really will be. Have a great day, Jess.

I just love the fall colors in this outfit. That dress is so gorgeous with that cardigan. My husband changed jobs right before Covid and we have an ‘actual’ pharmacist guy now instead of a random different person each time and it is so nice!! Ha! I do have to agree the blog is a Godsend for me, since I don’t work out of the home. It is nice to chitchat with my blogger friends and see what they’ve been up!

You’ve totally transformed the dress for cooler temps, it looks lovely with the boots and long cardigan! I always find September the most difficult month to dress for because it’s cool in the shade but hot in the sun. I spend the day taking off layers and putting them back on again! I’m sure it’ll be cold soon though, then I’ll be in boots and coats for six months solid! Thanks for linking up!

We cooked out and had a great weekend, however my hubby tripped over our firepit. He went to the doctor today to check whether anything is broken (like a rib) as he is in pain. Love this nod to fall. Waiting patiently for boot weather.

One thing I like about Fall is wearing sleeveless shirts or dresses with cardigans and booties.
We didn’t do anything special for Labor day. We just grilled some tuna steaks and enjoyed dinner on the patio.

Oh, my goodness! I so relate to you striking up a conversation with your pharmacist! When I was in the hospital for my surgery, it was so *good* to talk to other people that it made the stay a pleasure–hahaha! Of course, this is another look I love, my friend! I have a rust duster, but no dresses–boo hoo!

Such a cute dress and it looks so good layered with the rust cardigan, it’s a really nice colour combination! 🙂

I’m such an introvert I’m not missing other people all that much – plus my kids do enough talking to keep me entertained, haha! I have been video calling people less but still texting and calling family and friends to keep in touch 🙂

Thanks for the link up 🙂

Hope your week is off to a good start 🙂

Love seeing how easily this dress moves from spring to fall. Those colors are yours my friend – you wear them better than anyone. I do love getting out of the house just to do some shopping and chit chatting with the cashiers. We are social creatures!

That dress is just gorgeous! It’s nice you can style it for spring, summer, and fall. The earrings are so sweet. I’ve often thought how challenging this need for separation must be to extroverts. At least when I (an introvert) was stuck at some function feeling overwhelmed, I always knew I could go home. But even I am starting to feel the need to see a concert or something.
