Turning Heads Linkup- Styling Faux Leather Leggings with a Long Cardigan

Faux-Leather leggings are becoming one of the staples to have in a woman’s closet for Fall/Winter. With various ways to wear them, they are a way to look stylish and have fun with fashion.

Outfit

These dark chocolate brown faux leather leggings are something I pull out from my closet every year. I enjoy wearing them different ways, and today have styled them with a delicate lace cami and camel colored open cardigan from H&M.

I have been tempted to buy the Spanx faux leather leggings which are hugely popular each year at Nordstrom, but the name indicates that there is some compression in them and I don’t like anything tight against my tummy! With various GI problems, I am sure you understand. So, instead, I have this Zara pair which adds a bit of flair with the zips at the ankles and dark brown color different from your typical black.

The pretty tan lace cami would go with various cardigans and jackets, and give some of the menswear a more feminine vibe.

I also wanted black, and bought a pair of faux leather leggings from Ann Taylor years ago, that I take out to style in the Fall months.

Ways I am thinking and have worn faux leather leggings include

  1. With a long soft cardigan, cami and leggings. Add fun booties for an added print or texture.
  2. I wear faux leather pants with a long tunic sweater. Tunics are often “the choice” when it comes to leggings for certain women.
  3. Wear with a longer, double breasted blazer. Add block heels and you have a sophisticated, conservative look. You could always add some “whimsy” with an unexpected booties. ( leopard print, croc texture) ..

Happenings

It was beautiful on Friday when we went to look at leaves and enjoy driving the scenic route of The Blue Ridge Highway.

Much of the rest of the weekend it rained, so we continued to do work around the house, and ew ordered Italian from a local place, and watched the movie, The Princess Bride from the 80s. It was moms pick and she was surprised I didn’t see it. We laughed at one of the lines, at the “man in black” who wore a mask, saying ” Many people will be wearing masks in the future!” I don’t think this is what they had in mind. It was fun though, with its “Monty Python-eque” humour!

Do you have faux leather leggings you wear often in the Fall? How do you style them>?

I still don’t have a pair of faux leather leggings, but I really need some! I love that yours are brown instead of black, and those booties are so cool.

Thank you Grace! I love shoes, especially boots, they are just so fun to wear. The Zara leggings dont compress as much as the Spanx.

This is a beautiful outfit Jess. The lace and the snakeskin print shoes really elevates your look! I also wanted the Spanx faux leggings but I needed to size up. By the time, I got around to doing that, the NSale ended. There’s always next year though right? I don’t know that I have seen the Princess Bride but it sounds like a great movie to watch. Perhaps this holiday season I can finally sit down to actually watch something long enough without having to do homework?! My son’s remote learning is really taking too much time and energy. I know it won’t be like this forever but I won’t lie, I am crying on the inside! Btw, thank you so much for the feature. It means a lot to me and I appreciate it very much. I hope you are doing well and having a great day so far.

Oh, I love Princess Bride! I’ll have to watch that one again. It is fun and funny. You look amazing in these faux leather leggings. You are right about the Spanx leggings–they are definitely compressing!! I like them sometimes, but prefer my Lou and Gray most of the time. Have a great day, Jess!

This is beautiful with the fall tones! I especially love your boots! I just got some brown leggings and I think I need to pair them with camel like you did here. It’s a beautiful combination!

I just got a pair of the Spanx faux-leather leggings and WHEW are they heavy on the compression! These look lovely on you, and I love how you styled them with a cozy long cardigan!

OH MY STARS. This outfit is so delicious. It is wearable for running errands, date night, lunch with the gals. I just wish life could return to normal so we could do those things. You look so pretty. Love the cami…so feminine. And those boots. Was glad to get a closer look at them. Divine.
I have faux leather leggings just in black but I think brown would really work better for my closet. I am more of a warm color gal. Love how these look with the warm tones in your other pieces.

I just love all of the neutral/autumnal colors in this outfit. I have the black Spanx faux leather leggings and I do think they have some compression in the stomach (and they’re high waisted), so probably wise you avoided them. I just got some brown leggings (altho, they’re not faux leather) and thanks for the inspo on a way to style them!

I love your chocolate brown faux leather leggings! I tried the Spanx leggings once and sent them back – I am not a fan of anything that tight – way too much compression for my liking. The colors in this outfit are so perfect on you and so pretty for fall!
I’ve never seen that movie either, maybe one day I will!

Beautiful outfit, Jess! I love your lace cami and all the fall tones. I just listed all of my faux leather leggings on Poshmark because none of them fit me right. Now I might have to look for a new pair that fits properly! And I can’t believe you never saw The Princess Bride before either! It is one of my all time favorite movies and books. I just laughed out loud at that man in black line as well. How funny is that!
