Turning Heads Linkup – The Best Graphic Tee for Me

I know you aren’t used to seeing me in tee shirts. Heck, I am not used to seeing me in tee shirts. I had to put a bit of my own spin on things, but this graphic tee really spoke to me and I had to get it! “Dog Mother Wine Lover” was the shirt for me!

Graphic Tees

I bought one other tee this year, and I shared it yesterday on the blog, in the post, Pittsburghese, How to Talk Like a Pittsburgher. So have a read 🙂

Dog Mother

As Maria, from the Sound of Music once said, “These are a few of my favorite things..” I am a dog momma to Gibson and Truffles, the two most delightful bears on the planet. They make me smile and I never get tired of being around my pups. I have been a dog lover since I was a tiny tot.

We had Shadow, a black little mutt, I fell in love with at 6 years of age, when I held her in my arms. The next dog was Buttercup, a loving, blonde mutt who we loved watching her eat peanut butter off her long nose.

I have always had a love and affinity for dogs and hope to volunteer at a local shelter in the future. Dogs are great companions, there for you no matter what, and love you as you love them. I always stop to pet the pooches when we are out. I can’t help myself!

I love to think of myself as a dog advocate, as I sign petitions and write my Congresswoman about abolishing puppy mills and other animal issues I feel strongly about.

My hubby and laugh as when I was little we had “mutts” a mixture of certain breeds. Now, there are so many mixed breeds, but no one calls them mutts, as if that is a derogatory term! You hear I have a Golden-shitzu-poodle- or a goldenzuoodle… Ok, I made that up, but people do love to tell you all the breeds in their dog.

Wine Lover

Another thing we love to joke about is our sophisticated wine palettes, remembering a time where the Box of Wine reigned as Queen. Franzia, Zinfandel was the wine of choice in college, or around that age, as fine wines weren’t as easy to afford, and you can get a lot of wine from that box! 😉

Now, as I am older, I love to sniff and swirl. I find that I am more content when I get to do that before sipping. ( you know I am kidding!) My wine tastes have changed a bit when I used to favor a spicy Syrah or Shiraz and now, I have opened my mind to more complex Cabernets and have a love for Spanish Wines. I still can’t detect marshmallow or toasted almonds in my wines, but know I love a fruit forward dry wine. And let’s face it, it’s all about enjoying the flavor!

These photos were taken at “The Cottage”, a place where everyone knows your name. Oh, that’s Cheers! Well, everyone knows our names there too, as we will go there to hang out, have a conversation and enjoy the view when it’s warm, as it is by Lake Norman. They also love having the pups there.

Speaking of loving wines have a read from our Napa and Sonoma Trips last October. It was an amazing time!

We have over 100 vineyards here in NC, and many near us, so you will be seeing some posts on our local NC Vineyards as well.I have written about a few, so if you live nearby, or want to visit, the Yadkin Valley area, has many wineries. And don’t fear! NC is not only about sweet wines ( Scuppernog, and Moscato) as I don’t like anything sweet, even Resiling!  Our favorite vineyard, an hour away, Raylen Vineyards, has many events and welcome doggies They also have some outstanding wines, our favorite lately, is the BB Blend. The Borbon Barrelled red wine.

I bought these snakeskin heels about 3 years ago. Seems what goes around comes around.!

Jess, I, too, am a dog lover. I have always had a dog in my life and don’t feel like my family is complete without one. So we have two. My Cairn Terrier, Scooter, is 16 and the sweetest dog I’ve ever had. Our newest addition, Sergeant, a Schnauzer mix, was a find from our local shelter, and is such a joy. Yours are adorable, too!

As to the outfit, I love those jeans!! And of course, the tee is spot on.

    Thanks for sharing,
    xx Darlene

I’m not much of a graphic tee gal either, so this is exactly how I would wear it too! Throw on a good blazer, and you’ve just elevated the look by a mile 🙂 Have a great week, Jess!

The graphic tee is adorable. We always had “mutts” growing up. They were the best. Yes people love to name off what kind of dog they have. We do not have pets. My daughter was alway allergic and now that shes moved out, we do not want the responsibility. If I had a my pick, I want a Frenchie or an Australian Sheppard.
I had me a special graphic tee made for my 50th birthday coming up in May.

That is such a fun graphic tee and those are such trendy jeans to wear with it! 🙂 I am definitely a dog lover too! My dream is to one day get our dream home and then adopt another dog for our little one to be friends with. he’s more of a people dog than a dog dog though, so that might be tricky, haha! He tends to keep to himself at the dog park and prefers walking up to the people rather than the other dogs!

Thanks for the link up! Hope your week is off to a good start 🙂

Oh, love that tee. It’s so perfect for many of us. I love a tee under a blazer with jeans. It’s a nice combination of structured and casual. I really like those jeans too with the split at the ankle.
