Turning Heads Linkup -Tie Dye Dress- Trending

Does tie dye make you think of the Grateful Dead?

Well, that is one aspect of tie dye, but ti has become quite trendy over the past year, and is seen in stores. T-shirts, blouses, dresses etc. you might find one that appeals to you.

My Outfit and Life Lately

I was surprised that I liked some of the tie dye pieces that have come out. My mom just bought this pink ombre colored tee for herself from Macy’s and I kept eyeing this shirtdress. What caught my eye was the tie at the waist, giving it a more fitted shape other than just a button down shirt dress. I like shirt dresses with some character!

I was in the mood lately to wear my white chrochet espadrilles, but could have easily worn my cognac slides or white sneakers with this look, keeping it casual.

Tie Dye has a very 70s connotation, but I love how these pieces that are created are more modern, like this dress today.

I think my mom is doing better, just talking with us, and being able to see what we do and how we are approaching all of this. Is was difficult to be alone and to hear all of the information when it first was presented. I mentioned we think Vineyards are a pretty safe bet during this time as we can go to new places, as well as enjoy each other’s company and being outside. Many of them have music. So, last weekend we went to a new vineyard, minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, as a recommendation from my hubby’s coworker. As we drove there, it was dark, and a black cloud seemed to follow us to the winery. Looking at the weather, we finally made it there after an hour 30 minute drive and it had stopped raining. We had a great day and picked up dinner on the way home.

This is definitely one of the more elegant takes on tie-dye that I’ve seen, and it feels very “you”—polished and pretty!

I was a little wary about tie dye trending too, but I actually love it! I think it is more simplified and chic with less color and lines instead of the typical swirls and circles. This dress is gorgeous on you and I love the almost ombre effect of the color!

What a great find, Jess. Yes, I remember tie-dye from the 70s! Lol! I love a shirtdress and the tie at the waist on this one does give it a nice shape. Great colors on you, too! Vineyard-visiting is a great idea for a slow return to “normal.” Glad your mom is doing better. This has been a lonely time for so many people, especially those who live alone.

Love how this color goes perfectly with you. The fabric looks like what we called dipped dyed in dying yarn. You put one end of the yarn in a color and then put the other in another and let the color seep towards each other to the middle. I know it’s printed but i just love that idea. The style looks great on you. Take care and thanks for having the linkup.

This tie dye looks lovely on you. I resisted it for awhile but ended up finding a few soft subtle prints I like!

This dress is so YOU Jess! Very original! Tie-dye makes me think of the ’60s when I made my own tie-dye T-shirt. Since then I bought a tie-dye dress from my daughter’s Eco-boutique in Seattle, so much prettier than the T-shirt I made. 🙂

I’m really loving tie dye right now and this dress is so pretty! I’m glad that you are finding some fun, but safe things to do. We’re spending a lot more time outside, but I’m still avoiding people as much as possible.

I think tie dye made me think of spring break at Panama city beach. lol. But I like where tie dye is going…especially dresses like you have here…more chill but still cool. 😉

You really have an eye for finding dresses. This one has so much style, it’s hard to tell it’s a shirt dress. I’m so glad you and your family are getting out (and you missed the rain)!

    Jess,

I love your tie dyed dress!
I agree you look better with a belt because it makes the dress not look like a sack on your thin silhouette.
I love espadrilles for summer and I’m so glad you shared many options for us.

Happy to hear you enjoyed visiting a new vineyard during this coronavirus summer.

    Stay well!

My parents went to a vineyard with friends last weekend and they really enjoyed it! I have a tie dye sweatshirt coming in the mail tomorrow (I was ordering some masks from Old Navy and was trying to get to my free shipping, lol), boys xl red white and blue. Should be a fun one if it fits!

Your dress is lovely with its different coloured layers , so much more refined than the old tie-dye I remember from way back. Pleased you could safely visit the vineyard for a day out. I am glad your mother is doing better in these troubling times. Many thanks for hosting Jess.

Gorgeous colours in this shirt dress Jess. And I can’t get enough Espadrilles in my life right now! I think this virus must have hit the older parents the hardest of all. My mum would have been terrified. xx
