Turning Heads Linkup White Monochrome Look from Joan Vass

Good Morning friends!

Ah,, finally Spring may be upon us! It is later this year than last, as I usually love sitting on our deck outside in the morning, working on the blog and enjoying some fresh roasted coffee and fruit. Our weekend was so fun, as we went to a new farm to table restaurant  in Charlotte’s Mint Museum before seeing the Wynton Marsallis Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra concert. They played pieces by Thelnonius Monk, his style being angular and dissonant in many pieces. Monk also composed many jazz standards, which are my favorites to listen to. Each member of the Jazz Orchestra has such an impressive background, many coming from Julliard School of Music.Today, however, i thought I would put together my composition that epitomizes Spring and Summer to me, an all white monochromatic look from Joan Vass.

I have shared a look from Joan Vass last winter, in this post Leopard Shift Dress by Joan Vass, and had the chance to collaborate again. It was quite funny how it came to be! One of my pictures,  that Mary Grace took, my Jambu friend and contact, of me in Times Square giving the peace sign and sporting my comfy shoes, was seen by someone from Joan Vass’ company. He messaged me on Facebook and asked if I was going to be in NYC, that his company would want to discuss a collaboration. I messaged back, to find out he was from Joan Vass! I told him I had worked with them previously, but would collaborate again 🙂 and so it was… Funny how it came to fruition!

Joan Vass clothing has contemporary looks for women. Easy and fresh maxi dresses in red and black with a hankercheif hem,  shift dresses in bright colors and tunics are all part of the collection for Spring 2018,

I chose this white knit tunic, with detailing at the neckline, and wanted to pair it with a pair of white trousers or jeans. I chose the slim white denim jeans and decided to add some gold accents with this natural look. With this white ensemble, I am wearing gold drop earrings, a textured white necklace by Ann Taylor and my gold espadrilles by Franco Sarto. The gold threading in the espadrilles in picked up in the sun . I added my favorite bag by Brahmin, the Melbourne in Pecan for added rich color and texture. I can also style this tunic over a dress or wear it with a skirt for a different look. I am a fan of wearing a slim or straight pant with a longer tunic,

For reference, I am wearing the sweater in a 0 ( size 4 in jv) and the jeans in a 0 ( size 4)

Do check out Joan Vass for her Spring collection.

Are you a fan of an all white look for Spring?

Outfit details. sweater and jeans gifted by Joan Vass, opinion is mine and truthful.

Hello Jessica. I had a look at Yvonne’s blog yesterday and she has got a monochrome white outfit on hers as well. You look adorable in this outfit. I have the feeling every colour suits you. Thanks to the 2 of you I know what to look for in order to create an awesome monochrome outfit: a colour that suits me, statement shoes and a statement bag. Thanks for the inspiration. It’s summerly sunny here, so the bright white comes at the right time! Love, Lieske

This is such a great look for spring, Jess! I rarely do monochromatic looks, but when I do it typically is white. Your sandals are a perfect choice for this look. I enjoyed hearing about how your second collaboration with Joan Vass came about. Very cool!

Well first, I’m a sucker for all things v-neck and the cutout detail is so cute. I’ve always loved the look of those. That one looks really soft, but not see-through. I love the monochromatic approach too. That’s really fun that you are getting to collaborate with them again. Congrats!

This is a beautiful look, I would wear every single piece! Love the neutral style. I would love to go to a farm to table restaurant! How fun! I grew up with grandparents who were dairy farmers and they grew everything they ate so it was all farm to table. She made her own butter, pickles and even mustard. Good memories.
