Transitioning A Floral Bodycon Dress from Spring to Fall +Co-hosting

Hello Ladies,

Today I was in the mood for some plum colors. Purples, marsala, burgundy, all in this family are some of my most favorite shades. As I have mentioned before,as a red head, I find jewel tones also to be most flattering.

This dress, from Asos, transitions nicely from spring to fall, due to the darker palette in the dress. The navy, plum, burgundy and greys all work well leading into the fall season by adding this velvet jacket I bought years ago from Kohls. By now, you can see I have started to add more blazers to my wardrobe, as they are great transitional pieces and add that extra shape, texture to the look. I added my Tressje navy clutch to pick up the color in the dress.

I also collect vintage brooches, so I added this purple Etsy brooch and vintage inspired necklace from 1928 to the look.

Outfit Details: Purple velvet jacket: Kohls ( like this one), Burgundy vintage shoes: Ebay , Dress:ASOS, , Treesje leather clutch, necklace, earrings (1928.com), Brooch Etsy.

Here is the look from Spring so you can see how I changed a few details to transition to fall. So you can see the small changes I made: spring : lighter pointed flats, lavendar coach bag, different jewelry. For Fall: Added vintage brooch, darker burgundy vintage heels, a darker navy clutch and velvet jacket.

Getting the most from your wardrobe is what it’s all about. The plum is such a beautiful colour – one of my favourites and you wear it so well.

Jess, I love the way you seem to be wearing a totally different dress here!
It must be because the colour of your accessories and jacket that are picking out different colours in the dress…making it look richer today but lighter in the spring.
It just proves how versatile a piece can be (even though many people would think it was a one trick pony) in the right hands.
Such a deep and rich purple is beautiful against your hair and skin.
I am not normally a fan of ‘delicate’ jewellery but that brooch is soooo pretty and romantic.
It would be hard to resist its charms.
    Once again, beautiful!

Thanks Sam! Being a blogger, I have had more inspiration with other ladies also as how to make clothes more versatile. I agree the dark purple seems to pick up the navy and other shades. I collect vintage or antiue brooches as I do love unqiue jewelry. thank you!! Enjoy your weekend.xx
