14 Jan Wearing Mustard and Grey in the Winter
I will say it. I am not a Winter gal. If I were a snow bunny that loved to ski, skate, and didn’t mind the cold, it would be all good. However, I am just I have been enjoying sitting in the Great Room with the fireplace on when I work. January is one of those very cold, kinda grey dreary months, so it certainly can affect my mood. Wearing some bright and cheery colors during the Winter can help put you in a better mood, so I styled my mustard yellow floral blouse with this Anthropologie cardigan I bought on Poshmark this year.
Weekend
The weekends do seem to go by in a flash, and this weekend was no exception! Bright colors are fun to wear in the Winter to make you feel good, and so does a bit of pampering! Since I will be attending The Influencers of Midlife Conference next weekend, in Atlanta, I needed a weekend of beauty, especially after the head cold and congestion we both developed after visiting. Not fun.
I got my nails done with dip powder, and wow! I love it! I am going to have to do a post on this, as the nails turn out so beautifully! Last time I had it done, before Christmas, I had a rich red. This time, I wanted a pretty neutral that would go with everything, so I chose a light grey.
Saturday we went to Foxcroft Wine Co for lunch, and I then went to Idolize to get my eyebrows threaded. I love this technique as they shape them so well, and they look so nicely groomed. I wrote about Idolize Brow and Beauty HERE.
My hairstylist came over as well, and refreshed my color, as those pesky white and grey hairs needed some refreshing!
Wearing Color – My Outfit
I bought this mustard knit longer cardigan from Anthropologie on Poshmark for under $30. It is a heavier weight and made so well. I had bought this yellow/orange floral grey blouse from LOFT, in the Spring, but saw it as being the perfect blouse to style with this cardi now. This week I am styling my Rockstar grey jeans with different colors, and I do love yellow and mustard tones with grey. If you missed my post on Shopping Secondhand, and How to Shop at Poshmark, have a read.
Grey is a neutral, so think it of going with any color.
Starting at the top, I took the silky, mustard-colored belt from one of my Zara dresses and styled it as a scarf. I added the gold brooch as a special touch, as this became the focal piece instead of a necklace. Try that! Sometimes I am not a fan of cloth belts for dresses, and why not use it as a scarf?
Bits of green and orange peeking out from the flowers are additional colors that go well with this cardigan. The long flared sleeves are sweet too!
** I have linked at the bottom affiliate links, which I may make a small commision on at no cost to you.
The jeans I am wearing are Rock Star Grey jeans from Old Navy, and I also love the other brand, Wit, and Wisdom, as they are soft and have enough stretch. Plus, they are on SALE!
What color would you pair with grey to lift your spirits in the Winter?

Posted at 11:08h, 14 JanuaryBuying that blouse in the spring was so smart, as it’s the perfect complement for right now. Your day of grooming sounds divine. I’ve had my nails powder dipped before and you’re right, the finish is beautiful.

Posted at 08:21h, 14 JanuaryOoooh ~~ great inspiration today. Mustard is one of my favs to wear. Wonder why I have not paired it with gray which is another of my favs. 🤔Brilliant. The pleating on the cuffs of your blouse is so pretty and feminine. 💞
Have fun at the conference!!!
