14 Sep What a Weekend- a Casual Look with My New Sneakers
Hello ladies
I hope you enjoyed your weekend.
I am sharing a pretty casual look today with my new “from the Nordstrom Sale” Caslon leopard sneakers .
What a Weekend
Last Tuesday I went out with my mom and hubby to a wine bar. We each got a delicious lunch as we sat in the Courtyard I ordered a glass of wine, and began to have debilitating lower abdominal pain, nearly doubled over in pain. This continued as the week went on, and I was beginning to freak out as to what was the matter. I dealt with it for enough days, I went to the ER yesterday. They poked and prodded doing various tests, bloodwork, EKG and then an Ultrasound , to discover I have Gallstones. I need to talk to a General Surgeon and make an appt soon, then its a laproscopic procedure. Boy, I’ve tried to avoid hospitals/ERs at this time, but I guess you can’t control everything. Mom had this too years ago.
So , needless to say if I don’t post for a week or so, you will know why. I’ll keep you posted. Health is #1 priority.
Can I say 2020 has been a REAL challenge . ( as if you didn’t already know that!)
On to More Fun Things
I am wearing a long black sleeveless dress from Target, great for Layering. Added a bit of gold sparkle with my vintage brooch on my Anthropologie jean jacket. I was going for a transitional look one that is quite casual for the day. These leopard wedge sneakers were too cute to pass up. They are waterproof and I just loved the neutral print. I could see wearing these with jeans, dresses, really most things. I love the idea of wearing them with a neutral look or just as the focal piece like today. I bought them during the sale for $50, and today they are full price. They come in tan and black as well. I look forward to styling them with different jeans.
Here is our friend , Henry, the Heron. I named him. I was actually quite happy to see him, as he flew over the other side of the pond,
and we missed him.
Added a pop of red with my red Prada bow bag.

I just adore these sneakers…they almost look like ankle boots and they will go with everything.

Posted at 12:48h, 14 SeptemberI’m so sorry about the gallstones and glad you got it figured out. I dislike these reminders that we are frail human beings. You are looking so cute with your friend Henry. I *thought* you had a pair of these shoes… needless to say, they’ll fit seamlessly into your wardrobe. Hugs!

Posted at 10:28h, 14 SeptemberJess, I love this outfit! A cute dress with a denim jacket and sneakers always work! And how funny that Henry the Heron sat so still for your photos! I hope you are able to feel some relief before you get in for surgery. What a nightmare! I have been avoiding doctors and hospitals as well right now. I am due for a colonoscopy and my doctor recently got really mad at me because I said I want to wait until at least next summer before going in. I have no symptoms. I just get them done every 5 years because my mother died from colon cancer. So I am going to wait! But you obviously cannot. Sending you lots of healing energy and positive thoughts for an easy procedure and recovery!

Posted at 02:44h, 14 SeptemberUgh! I’m sorry you’re having to contend with gallstones. My step-daughter had to have her gall bladder removed last January. It helped a lot! I keep trying to bear in mind that I while I don’t want to get sick with Covid-19, I also don’t want to be leave anything serious untreated. I did my yearly mammogram last month. You were wise to get checked out.
Your new leopard sneakers are really cute! You’ve styled them wonderfully. I hope you’ve got something to control the pain until your gallbladder is taken care of.

Posted at 10:50h, 14 SeptemberThank you Michelle! I eat healthy and exercise, but the doc said it can happen anyway. My mom and dad both had their gallbladers out. Thats good to hear that it helped your step daughter, I just want to get rid of the pain! Yes, I agree. I was hesitant about going to the ER but knew something was wrong and I had to go. There was only one person in the waiting room when I went in. I have to go for a mammo too in November. Thank you! I liked the style and thought they would be cute with jeans and sweaters etc. I have some medicine called in by my doc. Thanks for stopping by Michelle!
