Why Buy A Trench Coat?

I’m sharing my latest addition to my Spring closet, the classic trench coat.

Why Should I Buy a Trench?

Why Not?

Ok. That’s not the best reason. I really have loved tailored, and classic looks over the past several years, and the trench is one that is always in style.

I did write about the trench and some of the history,  when I bought my first one on Poshmark,, but had been looking for a long trench now, to wear with pants and dresses.

How ’bout this?

You can wear your loungewear to run errands, stick the trench coat over top, and you look put together!

They are in neutrals and easy to style based upon the season, but a layered Spring look works quite well with either the classic or oversized trench.

Take a basic tee or button down shirt, add jeans, sneakers and a trench, its a great formula for chic and stylish.

Not only stylish, but they will take you through rainy and windy weather, as the material is waterproof.

If you love the street style, there are many different fabrics and cuts to choose from.

I went with Mango– a classic, straight cut in a tan color. I have worn it many times already. The great thing is they are at many different price points- from the $2500 Burberry trench to the $150 Zara trench, it all depends on what you are looking for.

I did order the Zara fitted trench in an XS, and a Mango trench in a S and ended up keeping the Mango. The Zara trench looked very similar, but the material was not as soft as the Mango. I also liked the one I am wearing here, ( Mango) has a beautiful lining. Not exactly wanting to afford or splurge for the Burberry, this one is a beaut.

I have just styled this with jeans and a turtleneck, and my fun gold/cream snakeskin booties. My leather JJ Winter’s clutch is a year   round accessory I love to carry as well.

The Weekend

I hope you all had a fun St Patrick’s Day weekend. We did celebrate at Daveste Vineyards and they had Celtic music, Irish fare, and beer/wine. I am not a beer drinker, so I had a Cabernet and enjoyed the Shepards Pie. I dressed in my green, and really enjoyed the closing act with rock music. If it gets me up and dancing, you know it’s good!

I love this classic look, so stylish. I have a few trench coats – a beige and black one that I’ve had for years, a bright pink Boden eBay purchase and a Hobbs pale blue one that I found in a charity shop. They’re great for the milder weather when you want a bit more coverage than a jacket. Hope you’re having a good week!

Love your coat because the color is perfect for most outfits. However, since it would not get worn here in SFla, I wouldn’t need it. Happy Easter. . .
