29 Jan Winter Whites and Other Ways to Wear A Maxi Denim Skirt
Monochromatic looks are quite elegant, and today I am sharing my winter whites with an Ecru Denim maxi skirt styled.
Wearing Winter Whites and Other Ways to Wear a Denim Maxi Skirt
Something about winter white that I always love. There is a classy look about it, and when it is a monochromatic look, it’s so chic!
I bought this Ecru denim maxi as I wanted a change from the blue denim maxi skirts as I have a few denim skirts in my closet. Ecru is a softer color than stark white, and will go with just as many looks. This is the second denim maxi I bought, as I returned the other, as it was 100% cotton, so not as soft as I wanted. This one from NA-KD, as Swedish brand, is soft with a bit of stretch. The other difference is that the slit is in the back instead of the front.
The one I am wearing is no longer in stock, but I absolutely love this one, which has the crossover waist. Here is another option with the slit in the front and this one from ASOS is under $35!
Here is a post featuring the other ecru denim maxi.
Now, if you are somewhat shorter, ( I am 5 ft 9) you may choose to get a denim maxi in a petite size, get it hemmed or go with a midi style.
When I talk about wearing monochromatic looks or tonal looks, texture is what helps to make the difference. This knit sweater from Mango a few years ago, does just that. I love this textured one from Mango as well, on SALE. My favorite Brahmin bag does that as well. It makes the outfit more dimensional and exciting.
Nisolo booties in light tan complete the look, and this is one way to wear a denim maxi.
Some ladies need color in these darker winter months. If you prefer some color over neutrals, add some brights to this neutral shaded skirt. Red is popular now for Valentine’s day, but there is still a fair amount of red, since it was the color of the year last year. Any bright will do, as long is it is favorable with your skin tone. As Spring approaches, I can see this denim maxi mixed with some wonderful pastels. This pale pink sweater from Mango under $20 would be quite pretty!
You could also create a more casual look with some converse or fashion sneakers, a band tee and cardigan or blazer.
Double denim is still popular, so why not try two pieces cute pair of metallic or brightly colored flats, which are having a moment!
I am going to share some like products down below, since some are older from the closet.
How was your weekend?
So, how was your weekend friends? We had a nice weekend, and I took my 2 shih tzus out for a walk on the one sunny day we have had in a week. We went 4 miles, and people are always astounded that our pups can do that at 14 1/2 and 12. We also went out to dinner Friday night and enjoyed part of the city.
I had my first day of training at the Lake Norman Animal Humane, and I can tell I am really going to like it. It’s not all playing with the dogs, but I was able to run with one named “Mr. Chuckles” and if I could have taken him home, I would! Cleaning ,doing laundry, cleaning the pens, and taking them to play is part of it. I also got to just sit in the pen with Hank, a big beagle, so I was in my happy place. I will be there 2 days this week.
Do you wear or would you wear a denim maxi skirt? Let me know in the comments.

Posted at 11:50h, 29 JanuaryThis is a gorgeous neutral winter white look, Jess! I’m only 5’1″ so I struggle with finding maxi skirts that are the right length. I do, as you suggest, usually buy midi skirts which work well. But, that Brahmin bag!!! Wow! I have a big collection of Brahmin bags, but nothing in this shape. I do love the toasted pecan color, too. It works so well with your winter white look.
