Today, I am reviewing a scienced based, woman founded skin care line- MEG21, and the product-MEG21 Smooth Radiance, Advanced Formula. 

The Brand

Meg 21, a professional skin care company, that was developed in 2005, and created to develop skincare and “skin beautifying” products. What I liked about the brand is the science and clinical trials that were done utilizing the ingredients in MEG21. Discoveries were made at a major Philidelphia hospital as scientists were looking for a way to fight diabetes. Diabetes is a condition that can certainly accelerate the aging process.

Supplamine is a patented discovery, and many clinical trials and double-blind trails were done. The results showed that Supplamine reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and brightens the skin among other benefits.

For many years, the brand sold to dermatologists, plastic surgeons and other doctors, who would then tout the recommend the brand to consumers and patients.

in 2019, the brand sold direct to consumer and began the website as well.

Smooth Radiance Advanced Formula Cream

The radiance cream is said to ” reduce fine lines, wrinkles, UV damage and crepey skin.

Supplamine, invented by Scientist Dr Annette Tobia, is a sugar-look-alike that neutralizes the natural sugars in our diet. Too many natural sugars result in skin inflammation and damage.” From their website:

“MEG 21 was founded and continues to be led by Dr. Annette Tobia, who holds a Ph.D. in cell biology from New York University and conducted post-doctoral research at Rockefeller University in New York City. She is a widely published scientist, whose research findings have appeared in peer-reviewed medical journals and in health and beauty industry publications. Since the age of 14, Dr. Tobia has had a passion for making breakthrough discoveries to better the human condition. As the inventor of Supplamine and founder of MEG 21, Dr. Tobia has realized her life-long goal of bringing health and beauty, along with a sense of well-being, to women and men around the globe.”

My Experience

I used this cream for 45 days and excluded, at that time, the use of my retinol cream at night, as well as my Vitamin C and Hydrolonic Acid serum in the morning. I wanted to use this without other factors, as how my skin would react to this product only.

You push down on the jar, and the dose dispenses from there, without waste. I would use one pump in the morning and did not use it in the evening. The cream is of medium thickness, and I would dab it on my forehead, cheeks and chin. I did this faithfully for about 45 days and was pleased with the results.

You can use it on your neck and decolletage area to lessen crepiness, , as it is proven to reduce lines, wrinkles, UV damage and crepiness in 28 days.

I’m still looking into something to lessen my crow’s feet, but the lines on my forehead softened and my skin tone seemed more even with less redness.

And CLINICAL PROOF

The other aspect that appeals to me, was the background and experience of the founder, Annette Tobia, who holds a PhD. in cell biology. and conducted post doctorate study at Rockefeller University in NYC.

With so many skin care brands, it is easy to be skeptical, but I do love the science and background that is provided here, it given me more faith in the product, as well as just seeing how it works.

Proof is often in the pudding though, right?

I’ve been using the MEG21 Smooth Radiance for over 45 days.  I apply it in the morning as moisturizer.

Here the only addition is my plum lipstick and eyebrows done.

This is a full face of makeup. No filters, some light from bathroom window.

Even my mom commented on my skin lately.

I look forward to trying their Brightening Eye Cream Treatment

It’s one of those contentious areas where there are lines that I can’t lessen, and at this point, I am not going for Botox. I like to try the more conservative measures so I’ll be giving this a try. I currently use the product by the Ordinary, with Caffeine for puffiness, but I am interested in seeing what this does for lines and brightening the eye.

They also have cleansers, toners, moisturizing formulas and a hand treatment, you may want to give a try.
