Welcome to Turning Heads Tuesday! June is going fast and there is much going on next month to look forward to. Birthdays, Anniversaries, vacation.. etc.I am looking forward to it! Today I am bringing you this amazing shirtdress/tunic I first saw on Annette, and loved the soft color palette as well as the trendy safari look that is big in fashion right now. As the temps increase, as they are in NC, I like comfortable, light fabrics with breathability. This dress is very light and so easy to wear. Let’s just say I love shopping on Zara!

I have always loved the color palette associated with a safari look: olives, greens, browns, rust.. This print caught my eye because of the added pale blush pink flowers and the green leaves that really predominate the look. I bought this on Zara shortly after, and wanted to wear it as a dress. I knew that this could be styled a number of ways and will show you that at some point on the blog. The material is very lightweight, which is needed in this hot 90 degree Charlotte, NC sun. I spotted these nude t-strap block shoes on H&M site, and thought I would be able to wear them with any dress in my closet, being very versatile.

My olive rich leather hobo bag is by a company in NYC, Hayden Harnett whose bags are a buttery soft leather and are great bags to take on a plane too. It really brings out the green in the dress.  The necklace with it’s peach and pink tones seemed fitting, as does the light maple wood of my Jord Watch.

Several ways to wear a Shirtdress:

• Pair with some leggings in olive, or other neutral shades with this type of print.
• Leave it open and wear it as a long stylish top. Add a tank underneath.
• If you live in a climate where you can layer, add a summer style light sweater over top to give it a look like a skirt and top.
• Wear it as a dress if you want to be cool and don’t mind exposing more leg.
• Wear a pair of jean leggings under the tunic for more coverage.
