10 Spring Fashion Trends 2021

Trending this year are some do-able and maybe not so doable fashions.

Spring Fashion Trends 2021

Yellow accessories. In this post about the Pantone Color for Spring 2021, various shades of yellow are infiltrating the stores. I personally am a fan, especially of a light butter yellow or mustard. Yellow is everywhere now from shoes, sneakers, handbags, and even cell phone cases. If you wanted to add this color to your Spring wardrobe, check it out!

Shorts or Mini Skirts on the runway as the weather heats up- the mini dress with a tier at the bottom is popular, and many a tiered dress are showing in stores.

We want comfort, but don’t want to sacrifice style- so instead of roomy joggers or sweat pants, the wide leg trouser or cargo pant is showing its face this season.

Pastels.– Not groundbreaking, but I am enamored with lilac and butter yellow this season.  Pale pinks and Mint  are showing too.

Bright colors– If you aren’t looking for the attention your bright colors may get you, try a bright as an accessory. A bright green handbag in an all neutral outfit can add some spice. Or just go for it and wear several brights together.. ie- a bright green top with hot pink pants.

No Surprise – Florals. These are bold florals though, not your Grandma’s teenie weenie floral prints. If you want to add a bit of sportiness to your florals, add a white fashion sneaker. It will give you a modern and fun look.

Shoulder accentuation. Puffy sleeves remain. Ruffles, tees with shoulder pads. If I wanted to look like a linebacker, I would have put money into the Pittsburgh Steelers. ( my hometown). Otherwise, shoulder pads are best left in the 80s with the power suits they came with. I do enjoy a puffy sleeve or two, however.

Looser fitting jeans. – a different sillouette. I love my skinny jeans, but I do get in the mood to change it up with boyfriend jeans, a more relaxed fit, or a straight leg. Wide leg cropped jeans are among my favorite as well. Now, there is a difference between “relaxed” and sloppy or ill-fitting. I’ll be sharing a look with a relaxed pair of jeans next week.

90’s style– Was there style in the 90s? I was in the beginning stages of college, and I couldn’t exactly tell you what I wore. What I do know is that there was an influence from Grunge Music, and alternative music. Much of this style revolved around flannel shirts, jeans, hoodies, sneakers. Do you remember “jelly shoes”? Many fabrics such as sequins, metallics, pleather pants,[53] animal print clothing, halter tops,[54] metallic clothing,[55] crop topstube tops, maxi coats, maxi skirts, knee boots, and boot-cut dress pants.[32] By 1997, popular mainstream trends included tight shirts, cropped tank tops,.  ** Wiki source.

Quilted Textures –

The trend was strong last year, when this quilted sandal by Bottega Vanetta  made its way into the media. These by Vince Camuto are a bit less expensive and so stylish! I bought a pair of quilted slip ons. that are “Chanel inspired” and the handbags showing this season have a larger quilted style to them.

What I am Saying “No” to!

Acid wash jeans– Just say no!  Clorox and jeans do not mix!

Which  of these might you add to your closet this Spring?

Have a great weekend,

Stay Safe

Jess xx

I totally agree with you regarding acid-wash jeans. Don’t need to see those again. The other trends sound fun and fresh. Just what we need this year. Thanks for adding your post to my link-up.

Yellow is the colour of Springtime! Whenever winter leaves (and that may be awhile, we still have lots of snow) I look forward to wearing sandals and pretty dresses like yours! I have jelly shoes, so comfy and if you get caught in a little spring rain, they can get wet. 🙂

I love loose fitting jeans! Have you seen the tomgirl jeans at american eagle?? I am worried about the high waist though. I have such a short torso I am worried they will look so stupid.

      Hi Natalie,
No, I haven’t . I am doing a post on Ag Tomboy jeans that I recently bought. I do like them, they are not a high rise though. Just give those a try though!
