A Classic Black Bag with a Modern Shape

Maybe you got your first real handbag and it was black. You wanted it to go with everything in your closet, and be able to wear it year round.

Well, there are many black bags out there, but this one I was gifted from Teddy Blake, takes a modern look with it’s unique shape and red interior.

At first, the Vera Croco bag, 14“may look reminiscent of a doctor’s bag from the 1950s, but the shape keeps it modern and current, as does the croc texture. I loved the red interior and the inside, which contained plenty of space for my phone, wallet, hairbrush and makeup with room to spare. There are two pouches as well. I like to keep sunglasses in there as well.  My mother actually told me that a doctor used to come to the house on occasion when we were little and lived in Pittsburgh. What royal treatment! Now, you would have to choose that for a Concierge service, and probably pay! ( well, that is a whole other topic for another time!)

The Vera Bag, also comes in 4 other colors, and I love the chocolate brown as well. Besides, brown is a color you are going to see, if not already in many retailers.

What catches your eye with bags? DO you like structure, or prefer more casual bags? Perhaps you like texture like croc or alligator?

I decided to style this bag with my multidirectional rust/black striped slip dress, a lace top worn over top of it, and black sandals. Worn into the Fall, I could take the same outfit, add another layer, such as an oversized blazer, and a pair of tall boots.

So many ways to wear this bag, especially if you prefer monochromatic or all black looks, as it gives visual interest with the texture and shape.

I’ve developed a bit of a collection of Teddy Blake bags over the years, so if you’d like to read some past blog posts with them styled, I would love that!

I have never been able to afford expensive bags and often forget to change out my bag anyway!! But I covet Teddy Blake bags. And if my ship comes in, I will put one on my wish list!!

What a lovely summer to fall transition outfit you have on. Love, love, love the lacy camisole over your slip dress. Such a feminine look.

That is really an amazing bag! I have always wanted a Teddy Blake bag and am part of the affiliate program, but that’s as far as it went! Oh well! My armoire is full so it’s not like I need one!
