18 Aug A Great Color Combination- Pink and Green
One of my favorite color combinations is green and pink. I love olive with a brighter pink, and this dress, styled with my new pink sandals gives off fresh summer vibes.
Green and Pink Pairing
Just like our roses in the backyard, with pink buds and green stems, this color always makes for a great pairing. This linen plaid dress, has shades of olive and bright pink, and i have had my new (thrifted) Franco Sarto pink sandals as well.
Just notice this glorious living room with its darker olive painted walls, and then pink accents. Fashion and interior design go hand in hand in this regard.
They are complimentary colors on the color wheel, and make a beautiful bold statement, when worn as colorblocking. Here it is a bit more subtle, but still a great mix. If I wanted to be a bit bolder with this dress, I could have added a deep olive green or bright pink purse. In this, case, I kept the woven bag neutral, however.
I am still wearing linen here in the South, as our “Fallish days” don’t really happen until November. Yesterday we went paddleboarding and kayaking, so even 84 felt balmy and cool!
Pink is often associated with romance, femininity, good health and sweetness. According to Sensationalcolor.com, “Green is a symbol of rebirth. It’s the color of youth, prosperity, and progress.”
I have had this plaid Mango dress for a number of years now, and the shape and style give it a bit of a vintage vibe. It was the color palette that caught my eye. I will link up a similar style since this is no longer available.
Are you one to try different color palettes? Do you find yourself sticking to “safe bets?” I love to branch out with fashion, and feel that what is the worst that can happen?
If you prefer pinks near your face as you feel it brightens it up, try a pink blouse with a kelly or olive green pair of pants. Conversely, if you like green in a blouse a light pink or blush skirt would certainly look lovely. Now, if you aren’t sure, you can start smaller with accessories. Pair an all white outfit with a pop of pink and green with your bag and shoes. Or a scarf.
Life Lately
I can’t say we haven’t been busy this summer. Went to the Isle of Palms, READ HERE and HERE, Nashville, and just busy at home with lessons and concerts and such. Good summer fun! This is the time of year though to get summer clothes on sale for next year or browse/buy something to add to your closet for Fall. Tomorrow you will see one of the Pre-Fall outfits I purchased, for under $60. We are planning a trip to Spain and Portugal in October, so I look forward to that and I am already thinking of how I will pack just a carryon for 2 weeks. I did it for Italy and it can be done!
Have you tried this color combination?

Posted at 17:54h, 19 AugustThis has to be the perfect summer-to-fall transition dress. The pink, in my mind, speaks to summer. The dark green to approaching fall. And there’s a kind of tobacco color that reads full-on fall. So pretty. And it fits you perfectly. Throw on a cardigan or denim jacket and this dress should get you through November.
We were at a mall in San Antonio earlier this month at passed a Mango store. My husband mentioned that he had never heard of Mango. I instantly thought of you and mentioned the beautiful Mango dresses you have shared on your blog. They need to make you their ambassador!!
