16 May An Easy Casual Look with Camel Shorts and a Black Tank
Today it is all about a casual look with a pair of tailored shorts.
Easy Casual Look
The high rise pleated shorts in a camel color caught my eye on the rack at Tarshay. I liked the length, the color and tried them on with a basic tank. ( One of the ones I bought multiple colors in). The inseam is 5″ which is about an inch longer than what I typically wear. The shorts are made of : 66% Cotton, 31% Lyocell, 3% Spandex, giving it breathability and some stretch, so comfortable!
They also come in a multitude of colors. I love the olive and black for other neutral shades.
We are having some mid 80 days and will have a few 90 degree days next week, so this would be perfect for those days and the Dog days of Summer as well.
I mentioned from THIS POST, that the tank is also A New Day, and comes in many colors, you may want to stock up on these basics. I love that I can wear a regular bra with this tank.
High rise shorts of this 5′ length are great for ladies as they can be worn with a multitude of tops and are a flattering length for those that want to show their legs. I am wearing my usual size 4 in these shorts, so they are true to size. They also come with a belt which can be tied into a bow for a finishing touch. I liked the look without the belt it came with, and would consider adding a belt like this, next time I wear it.
This neutral look is a favorite color combination- camel and black, which is always a classic pairing. I added my rattan bag to add texture to the look. Andre Assous espadrilles give the look a more casual vibe, and would also work well with some cute slides.
Happenings
Are these months just flying by? We had a great weekend, visiting The Cottage , sitting at the “magic table”, ( don’t know the story behind it), and just enjoying socializing with some “regulars”. The pups met a new pup, a Coton de Tulear, which is a very friendly, bright, and happy -go lucky dog. They have long white hair, which feels like cotton, and make funny squeaky sounds. He really liked Gibson! The owner told us his wife wanted this rare breed, which is known as the Royal Dog of Madagascar. They ended up traveling to Argentina to pick up the pup!
What length of shorts do you prefer? Let me know in the comments!

Posted at 10:46h, 17 MayGlad to see these great shorts are available at Target. And come in several colors. Going to check them out. I loved your longer Bermuda-length shorts but my go-to length is 5″ so these really fit the bill. Such a simple but chic look with the black tank and the rattan bag.
Have never heard of the coton dog so followed your link to check out the breed. What a cutie pie it must be!! Someday I hope to have another dog. Miss my 3 babies terribly.

Posted at 09:55h, 18 MayHi Leslie, I prefer this or 4″. The Bermuda shorts were me trying them out. I like them but don’t gravitate toward that length. They are fun. Oh, gosh, that dog was adorable, his name was Rocco! I just love pups, so I know what you mean.
