19 Oct Ann Taylor Marsala Lace Skirt
Hello Ladies!
I hope you had a great weekend, I think fall is arriving here in NC,as it was 30 degrees last night. I just love bundling up with covers and cuddling with my pups when the weather gets chilly. Today I planned on showing you one of my favorite looks, which is taking a mostly black pallete, and adding a vibrant, rich tone to really make it stand out. When I first saw this skirt on Ann Taylor’s site, it was love. The detailing in the lace, scalloping and the color had sold it for me!
I love this color and one of the reasons is I think it is so lush, rich , and perfect for all skin tones. I love that is looks wonderful with so many colors, rust, olive green , mustard, plums as well as neutral shades like black. I am wearing a Banana Republic wrap top, tights and vintage square toed bow shoes that I have in a burgundy color. I do buy something in more than one color all if I love something so much.
One type of look that is my favorite in the fall and winter is an all black look with color in a skirt, pant, or coat. The color just really stands out and takes the look to the next level. I fell in love with this skirt from the moment I saw it on the Ann Taylor website, as the intricate detail of the lace, the color drew me in , and I knew I had to buy it. Generally , if I go back and look at something more than twice, it has caught my eye. A wrap top is most flattering on figures as it defines one’s shape. My added touches are the burgundy brooch and a pair of black metal lace-looking earrings.
I have a leather jacket I want to pair with this look, but it is still quite warm here, but temps are getting cooler

Posted at 17:04h, 20 OctoberWhat a delicate lace pattern and I like that it’s actually on an angle making it even more interesting to the eye. And you’ve even matched the colour of your nail polish exactly to the colour of the skirt. Impressive!

Posted at 11:51h, 19 OctoberMarsala…such a romantic name for this colour, rich and luxurious!
I think I do have this in my wardrobe but it is hard to tell for sure through the screen…I would perhaps call it burgundy, wine or warm red? but it is going to be marsala from now on! Much more exotic.
This skirt is delicate and feminine, and it adds subtle curves to your slim figure..so pretty!
I struggle to wear wrap tops, Jess. I think I am lacking, just a little too much, in the bust department and they just look quite chunky on my midriff. I always admire wrap dresses on other women, they certainly enhance curves to maximum effect.
And this top is doing just that!
As always, you look beautiful.

Posted at 21:23h, 19 OctoberI know! It can be confusing, it could be a ruby red, but burgundy and marsala as well as some of the other colors are so similiar Glad you like this look! The waist is larger as are the hips on me, but I didnt want to go down a size, I am fine with things a bit loose, and full skirts are fun 🙂 SO glad you like this too I dont wear alot of black but like to with color from time to time See you tomorrow!!
