19 Apr Turning Heads #linkup -Anthropologie Top-Blue- Green Hues and Some Retro Cat-Eyes

Hello Ladies!

I hope everyone is enjoying spring like weather or at least getting a bit warmer. We were able to sit outside at one of our places we are deemed “regulars” and enjoy lunch with some red wine or beer. My mom has been visiting and we are taking her to our favorite places.  I admit many of them are wine bars! She has been enjoying her stay, and seeing family. When out,  Truffles is always waiting for something to drop to the ground, Gibby became interested in Molly, a Maltese/Shih Tzu mix. White, Fluffy, he is there! On another note, I wanted a more retro look and if I knew how to do victory rolls or the like, I would give it a try. My hair is fine, there is just a lot of it! My stylist told me it would be tricky because of having long hair. Anyhow, I worked it so I could have kind of pseudo-60s pouf at the top of my hair, but yes it is going to take some experimentation. I just thought why not? I love cat eye glasses, there is no surprise there. I do remember walking into a Lenscrafters where a woman told me that I have a oval shape but narrow face and might need kiddie glasses! I had to pass on the Dora the Explorer frames and just ignore the comment, as I decided I may find a great pair on-line. One just has to know their PD ( pupilary distance) width across ( for me its 49-50mm). I ended up buying this fun pair at Zenni Optical online. The one thing about having poor vision is unfortunatly I cant just pick up any pair and wear them, as there are so many stylish pairs of sunnies out there without a prescription. Anyway, I ended up purchasing these happily on-line.

   As for my outfit today, as you know, besides florals I like lace, and also color. This top was really the inspiration behind the colors and look. I bought it on Poshmark, for a mere $15 from Anthropologie. I am in love with the cage-like criss-cross detailing on one side. Had to move the hair to get that picture! I have another sparkling blue brooch from my vintage  collection,  which almost melds into the top, the colors go so well. . I swear, the moment I completed this look, I kept hearing 50s and 60s songs in my head…”My boyfriends back…and Im gonna be in trouble…”

I added the blazer, Zara, as it was a perfect complement to the look if one wanted to style it in a more dressy manner. The mix of floral prints occurs in the shoes and the blouse adding more print and texture. One of my favorite bags , from Kate Spade, lent itself to the color scheme. The  blue  chandelier earrings added a modern touch.
