Musical notes, bring something to our lives, I went to school to be a musician. I graduated with jazz guitar as my Major, and do play my guitars at times. What we see on a page is black and white, but as with this outfit above, I put together as an example, there are embellishments, and more interest in the shoe and dress texture and detailing. It is like that in music. You see one thing on a page, that looks like one thing, but what is put together can be organized, or improvised ( as we may do with our wardrobe), but often, there are details and added sounds that make the piece special.
I still want to enjoy and play music. It is possible, even with EDS. I used to think so many things were impossible due to EDS, when I decided I had to modify, but could still accomplish what I wanted.  I may not be able to sit as long as I could, or stand, but I can produce sound, improvise, and make music. So, when we put together our outfits that are black and white, perhaps it is the texture, the added scarf, or pop of color in your bag. Sometimes it is the details that read between the lines.
How would you embellish your black and white outfit?
This is a park near our house, and I caught a glimpse of these bushes and wanted to be near them as they were so pretty. This ensemble is black and cream, hope you like!

Thank you ! I appreciate the comments. I bought the skirt early on, sometimes if something catches my eye I don’t wait for the sale, and this was one of those pieces. My nails are thin but I like to paint them in the spring, these pastel colors, thanks again.

Thank you again Mary! I found my shirt in the back of my closet, and always liked the pattern. The magnolias were an extra bonus 🙂 Take care.

So lovely Jess! The white jacket just makes the outfit sing. Love the skirt too. You have styled the whole outfit beautifully. Pretty with the blooms. It must be so difficult to have EDS. It’s great that you can do this blog and share your style!

Thank you Ann for the lovely comments. You are such a sweet person. EDS is hard, but I am able to do more than I was 6 years ago when it all started. I actually thought of you with the pattern on my shirt. I know you like textures and patterns as well. I love the magnolias and thought it would be a great place to get some shots. Have a great week! xx jess

    Hi Jess,
hope you had a nice Easter weekend. I really love your black and white outfit. Black and white is always a chic and classy option and I´m a big fan of this colour combination. Also love your nail polish. Is it mint apple candy by Essie? My daughter gave me this colour last year as a birthday present and I love it.
    Have a good week,

HI Monika. I am not sure of the color. Thank you regarding my outfit. I haven’t worn this shirt in awhile, it was in the back of my closet! funny how we discover clothes sometimes. I like black and white as well. Another thing I would do next time is add a pop of color in a handbag. Have a nice week!

Hi Jess, so glad you dropped by today, I’m loving your wonderful blog. So much meaning in every posts. I love your analogy of black and white, the little surprised and unique way we express ourselves is what makes music and our outward appearance so special. The way you expressed yourself with black and white today was beautiful, especially throwing in that wonderful clutch I look forward to follow you.

Thanks so much Trina. I am glad you like my writing. I created the collage as soon as I saw the musical notes I knew I could do something with it. I appreciate it. Music was and is an important part of my life as is creativity. Please do follow, I will come back to your site too!

Jess, this is really pretty outfit. I love the top & the skirt is gorgeous. The jacket is a great piece as well and does the job to pull it together. I admit – I’m totally envious of that skirt. 🙂

Thank you Carrie. You would look great in the skirt. Check Ann Taylor’s sale section, they have 50% off sales items, just not sure if the skirt is still there. Thank you. I love the pattern on this top and the jacket was a steal. Every now and then I find nice pieces as Target.
      Take care , jess
