19 Sep Black Quilted

TGIF!! I don’t know about you, but I am ready for the weekend. The past few days I haven’t felt the best, but this was one of the good days, so we decided to go to lunch at a lovely restaurant by the Lake, which we haven’t been to in awhile, North Harbor Club. It was still quite warm this day, but I threw caution to the wind and wore my favorite faux leather skirt!

We both wanted the atmosphere, and enjoy looking at the view, all of the boats that range from sailboats to speedboats to just plain boats I could live in. It was warm, but not too bad, but Fall is not quite here yet in Charlotte. I really don’t expect it until there is a chill in the air sometime around Halloween.  I may just have to wear fall clothes just to despite the fact that the weather wont cooperate with my mood

So, there are times, I am not always able to get what I want to eat, because my stomach has caused me problems since I was 20. So, the salad with the grilled fish was out today. However, I did notice on the menu the lobster mac and cheese. Ummmm. Mac and cheese, and seafood! Yeck, yeah!! We of course ordered this medium bodied, clean, fruity, Pinot Gris, which was one of the best I have had this summer. Hubby got some pulled pork sandwich with homemade red potato salad, and my dish came out  What I saw at first was a giant white plate. Then there was a little section in the middle that dipped down and formed a circle. Well, I know my eyes are bigger than my stomach, but you know how fancy food can be? Sometimes it looks more artistic and less: fill you up becuase-you-are-hungry-kind of dish. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. The richness of the cheese and fish, make my mouth happy and my stomach content. I suppose you figured out by now, neither one of us are great cooks, so we do eat out a fair amount.

I stared aimlessly into my closet, and because it is in between seasons, didn’t know what to wear! A few changes later, I figured, I am going to wear this skirt! So I had to pair it with a light top, as I knew it wasn’t as cool as it SHOULD be 🙂 I enjoy a white and black look on ocassion, and decided to give a nod to fall with my Rebecca Minkoff wine hobo bag, and my Nars red lipstick. I am also wearing a new pair of shoes! i liked the quilted detail on these patent leather flats. Excuse the goody smile in the second picture. Sometimes I can be a bit of a smarty-pants while waiting for hubby to take the pictures.
